🌄 Major Elevated Terrain Update – Performance, Polish, and Pets!
Hello Wildarians!
This update brings height to the world of Wildaria. Procedural elevated tiles in all the biomes besides Oceans break up the world with staircases to walk up them they will soon hold treasures themselves. The new starting area enemy the Oakoo, a living acorn will shoot baby acorns at you.
We were able to fix a ton of bugs and make a lot of performance improvements, but as always please leave your feedback and bug reports in the discord or on the Wildaria.net/bugs form! Thanks
Here’s what’s new and fixed:
🏞️ World + Terrain
Implemented fully functioning elevated land generation, now integrated with POIs and miniPOIs
Added desert and swamp elevated tiles with support for overlay textures Introduced biome-specific staircases (with destruction support) Updated staircases and colliders to work properly with player, pets, and enemies Improved sorting, pathing, and spawning for elevated land stairs Created fallback system to prevent ocean elevation Fixed elevated tilemap destruction bugs Added support for item drops and projectiles on elevated surfaces Improved elevated land edge cleanup and POI exclusion logic Added debug menu support for elevated land coordinates
🐾 Pets + Combat
Made pet taming easier to balance during playtesting Fixed pet riding on elevated terrain (stair sorting/layers) Pets now follow you up and down stairs using Clipper subtraction for colliders Fixed fast travel with pets Started implementing elevated pathfinding for enemies Improved enemy knockback interruption and doubled thrust impact Fixed pet death-related bugs and champion pet behavior in arenas
🛠️ Performance + Systems
Optimized elevated tiles with SetTileBlock Boosted performance of enemy health manager with singleton pattern Improved player collider to reduce getting stuck Fixed minimap flickering with new dungeon shader Turned off velocity camera to fix scene fader visual glitches Inventory overflow bug fixed (no more breaking with stacked items) Fixed scene fader starting uncovered and added post-processing (kept subtle bloom only)
🎮 UI + UX
Added controller-specific icons for Interact, Sell Manager, pet/player abilities Improved debug text sizing and spacing Added “Quick Start” button (F4) to resume latest player and world from main menu Added feedback to Bubble Lasso: charging effects, perfect/captured text, flashing visuals Made mana bar a singleton for improved UI behavior
🎵 Audio + Polish
Added new Forest Day music event and Night Forest track Fixed arena music, pet, and NPC behavior inconsistencies Fixed chest inventory bug and missing SFX
🌱 Misc Fixes & Tweaks
Worked on Oakoo spritesheet and added Oakoo to the game! Fixed minipois popping in/out, and improved their connection logic Shrines now spawn properly again Background sprite added to dungeon to fix visible tile edges Fixed fade issues during weapon selection Arena manager now correctly recognizes biome Fixed inventory phantom items bug Fixed ocean village arena blockers and dungeon key spawning issues Improved aggro on more animals Adjusted cactus and desert/swamp stair colliders Slowed XP cap growth between levels Fixed controller double-click issue Added error handling for minimap out-of-bounds Fixed a rare main menu worldgen crash Let us know what you think and keep reporting issues as we polish up more features.
