changedHalloween and the fall season has always been my favorite of seasons.
changedCHAOSThroughout September we ran many internal tests as well with a focus on what we're calling Chaos. We have been working to setup destructible elements, stuff you can shoot and have it explode or fall apart. Like barrels, and windows. When you're flying through the map and shoot a barrel it'll explode, and there's nothing like a good explosion to get your drone battle started!
changedUIThe UI screens in Sky Link have had a few polishes throughout September. Small fixes and corrections have been entered for the End Game screen, the Rewards screen, and the Lobby.
fixedSFXWe have had a recurring issue with missile lock on sounds repeating after the missiles gone, and that has been resolved this month too! This was one that got a lot of attention and caused some annoyance, I'm relieved this one is over! Other sound effects additions include new small explosions being added for barrels. So excited to have some interactive elements in the map! The way sounds are generated for collisions have been a focus as well.
addedVFXWhile working on the missiles we've also been adding abilities on the back end, like flares. The flares look great, and will cause any missiles that have locked onto your drone to miss. These are going to be an item you can add to your load out. The flares are not available in the playtests yet, though in one of our future updates you will definitely see these rolling out!
changedGame AIIn one of our last updates we mentioned that the in game AI has been really powered up. This month we see the abilities in the Skirmish bots turned back down to manageable levels. If you have been in Skirmish and thought not again, you should give it another chance. The bots still work together and do not shoot at eachother, so it's an uphill battle though they are not as fast to fire or to aim. So hop back into Skirmish and let us know what you think!

Welcome to October!

Halloween and the fall season has always been my favorite of seasons.

Lots to go over, so let's get to it!

CHAOS

Throughout September we ran many internal tests as well with a focus on what we're calling Chaos. We have been working to setup destructible elements, stuff you can shoot and have it explode or fall apart. Like barrels, and windows. When you're flying through the map and shoot a barrel it'll explode, and there's nothing like a good explosion to get your drone battle started!

UI

The UI screens in Sky Link have had a few polishes throughout September. Small fixes and corrections have been entered for the End Game screen, the Rewards screen, and the Lobby.

SFX

We have had a recurring issue with missile lock on sounds repeating after the missiles gone, and that has been resolved this month too! This was one that got a lot of attention and caused some annoyance, I'm relieved this one is over! Other sound effects additions include new small explosions being added for barrels. So excited to have some interactive elements in the map! The way sounds are generated for collisions have been a focus as well.

VFX

While working on the missiles we've also been adding abilities on the back end, like flares. The flares look great, and will cause any missiles that have locked onto your drone to miss. These are going to be an item you can add to your load out. The flares are not available in the playtests yet, though in one of our future updates you will definitely see these rolling out!

Game AI

In one of our last updates we mentioned that the in game AI has been really powered up.

ROADMAP

Chaos testing is expected to continue through October, and we should see modular weapons soon too. The back end has been setup and we've been testing having different weapons and abilities on different drones and it's working fantastic. Once it's setup and built into the UI we'll have every playtester try this out as well. Customized loadouts and destructible elements are coming soon, so stay tuned!

PLAYTESTS

During our Friday event we do beta testing; checking balance in game while learning to master the finer mechanics of flight. Sky Link: Freefire is difficult to master, though truly easy to pick up and just play.

Last Friday’s playtest was shared on Youtube live, and can be viewed here: https://youtube.com/live/E8M_PWnH4pw We get together every Friday at 1 PM PST and Saturdays at 4:30 PM PST. It’d be awesome if you could stop by and check it out with us!

Quick Updates for Playtesters:

We had an issue early in September that caused some play testers issues logging in. While we found a workaround during the playtest, the Odisi team has now fixed this issue. A simple update will get you back into the game!
