New Update!
I've added a new area, souls and new enemy AI in this version, keeping it short.
Steam post imageFirst of all, I've been updating the current pt BR translation and checking if everything's working as expected... Hopefully I'll add support to other languages as time passes.
The New Area
Now while exploring, you may find an unusual key, different keys lead to different places, as you might guess.
The new area is called Death's Dark.
That's where the souls gather.
You may find the new pigs, the shadows and find out that staying in the dark is not the brightest idea...
When you stay a few seconds in the dark, you'll get Gloom -> Dread -> Despair, which leads ultimately to death.
In this new area, there's a day/night cycle, during the night, shadows may come to chase you, they can quite easily get rid of campfires or your light level...
During the day it's almost as dangerous as the limbo, so you can explore a bit less carefully.
PIGS!
In Death's Dark, you may find pigs wandering, they're really noisy and can call unwanted attention, but they can be really useful.
Pigs will wander around looking for plants, if a plant has some fruits, a pig will eat, search for another pig and create offspring.
Pigs can be killed for meat or bones, even though they're unreliable at best. Pigs can drop meat from their corpses, that can be cooked for a really good food source.
Their raw meat can also be eaten if you're corrupted.
Pigs can also be possessed by souls.
New Bell Pepper
It's a really bad food source, but can be "planted" if you let it spoil on your inventory.
They can also be combined for pepper slices and even combined with calamari for the best food in the game, Stuffed Squid, that recovers a good chunk of sanity when eaten.
Bell pepper is also a bait, it can be used to catch the Flying Dragon Fish.
The Flying Dragon Fish
It's the best light source in the game, but be careful not to get burnt in the process of trying to light a torch...
Yes, it creates fire.
Yes, I know it needs to be balanced and I already have an idea for the next update (to make it instantly give the player two "sear" cards, so it can't be spammed and should be used VERY carefully.)
New Campfire interaction
If you use the blessed salts, your campfire should turn pink and start shooting purification around, that can get rid of the shadows from death's dark.
SOULS
Honestly this update only took this long because of the souls.
They have personalities, purity, accessories, I could give a lot of details, but since they don't do anything meaningful to the game (yet), I'll leave it for later.
New Cultists/Improvements
You'll notice the cultists now look much better and the "guard" cultists should be waaaaay less annoying, they won't chase you as much as they did and will mostly stay where they should be.
There's also a new cultist, the Warlock, it carries a ritual candle and can shoot impurity, that hits hard.
Also it teleports more cultists to it.
I also improved the queen spider's AI a little so it can break walls (which makes it not get stuck anymore as much as it did.)
Bug Fixes
Backpacks should now be saved properly when exiting a save and reentering.
I didn't really write all of the bugs I fixed, sorry.
Anyways I have some big plans, you might stop hearing from me for a while because of college finals and stuff, but I'll try to do at least some small versions before disappearing for a while to finish this bigger update. (honestly the game is at least 50% done)
