First of all, we want to sincerely apologize for not being able to finish some of the new features we had planned for this month. As a two-person team, both of us were heavily involved in preparing for and attending BitSummit, an indie game festival held in Japan—and as a result, development was more disrupted than we expected.

That said, while we couldn’t complete new feature development, we’ve been actively fixing bugs as reports come in. Also, progress on the Chapter 3 script is going smoothly, so we hope you're looking forward to it!

Here’s a breakdown of what we’ve been working on this month:

July Key Updates

  • Adjusted mouse offset

  • Fixed menu layout bugs in specific resolutions

  • Fixed input issues in certain languages

  • Corrected translation errors

  • Fixed minor animation/object bugs

  • Reduced the dialogue choice display when viewing the log

  • Fixed a bug where saving wasn’t possible on some chapter ending screens

  • Added a required interaction with a specific character in a specific scene → (This led to a new bug where the story could become blocked on Chapter 1, Day 3 if visited in a certain order — we released a hotfix in v0.5.15 to resolve this.)

  • Other minor bug fixes and polish

Chapter 3 Progress

● Scenario & Script

  1. Overall story flow and major plot planning – 🟢 Completed

  2. Scene-by-scene structure, dialogue flow, and branching logic – 🟢 Completed (New!)

  3. Writing full dialogue – 🟡 10% complete (New!)

  4. Implementing the script in-game – ⚪ Not started

● Art Assets

  1. Investigation items and background art – 🟡 35% complete (New!)

  2. Event CGs – ⚪ Not started

  3. Ending CGs – ⚪ Not started

This month, we completed all scene-by-scene story structure and dialogue flow planning. We’re now working on writing the actual dialogue for Day 1.

We’ve also begun creating art assets such as investigation items and background illustrations. As of now, visuals for Day 1 and Day 2 are roughly complete. Note: Some detailed item graphics may be adjusted later once the final script is ready.

Development Plans for August–September

  • Add controller support

  • Remove the "gift/bribe limit" from investigation scenes (except for initial character meetings)

  • Implement Steam Cloud Save

  • Improve how currency is earned

  • Continue bug fixes and stability improvements

  • Continue Chapter 3 dialogue writing

  • Create Chapter 3 investigation items, background art, and event CGs

To meet our timeline for Chapter 3, the top priority is completing the dialogue script. However, since our lead programmer is also in charge of dialogue writing, it may take a bit longer for us to deliver new feature updates.

As always, bug fixes come first, so please don’t hesitate to send us reports anytime!

We’re so grateful for all your support, which keeps us going even during the summer heat. Please stay safe and cool—and thank you so much for your continued patience and encouragement.
