As became customary, every Player/NPC Race Update must be followed by a harsh bug-fixing one! But this time, not only did we fix a ton of them with the new races, but also even more to the rest of the game!

Changelog

  • Doubled the effectiveness of the Undead replacing bones

  • NPCs can now very rarely be Skinwalkers

  • Skinwalkers can now also disguise themselves as Humans when fully covered, just like the Undead

  • Skinwalkers can now fly/levitate when they eat Avian or Fairy NPCs, and no longer need to breathe when eating Undead ones

  • Skinwalkers now learn abilities when eating Beasts to transform into them for 3 days at a 10 MP cost, also to be able to cast it again to Transform back

  • Skinwalkers now learn the Flight, Light and Invisibility Abilities of Fairies and Avians when they take their skin, and forget them when it rots away

  • Skinwalkers now respawn with full HP just like Vampires, to avoid death loops

  • The Undead's glowing eyes now extinguish when they die

  • Tightened the restrictions on being considered "hidden" for Undead player charactersthey now need to have all basic armor slots filled, plus hand and feet accessories, and specifically a Mask equipped. Added this as a hint to Mask Items' description
  • Undead are no longer ignored/not attacked by other Monsters

  • Undead NPCs now no longer aggro Undead players (if they aren't Marauders or Bandits)

  • Waiting, and other Time Passing actions, now properly restore Skinwalkers' HP and MP when they're Skinned

  • Fixed being able to talk to NPCs when Skinless as a Skinwalker

  • Fixed bugs when trying to drag Animals or Monsters inside buildings

  • Fixed bugs with characters not being able to use stairs properly

  • Fixed bug when trying to move Animals to other Chunks due to distance

  • Fixed inverted Nose and Mouth sliders' disabling based on the selected Race during Character Creation

  • Fixed not being able to talk to, or as, an Undead using the Speak to Dead Effect in several setups

  • Fixed races that take damage from the sun, like Vampires and Skinwalkers, playing the burning sound effect even after death

  • Fixed Skinwalker's legs now changing with clothes

  • Fixed Skinwalkers being able to turn into Vampires or Werewolves, and losing almost all their traits when skinwalking

  • Fixed Skinwalkers ignoring eaten NPCs' sex for their new appearance

  • Fixed Skinwalkers not unequipping Items when transforming into Humanoids

  • Fixed Skinwalkers weird appearance after eating Bosses

  • Fixed typo in Undead race's description in Character Creation

  • Fixed Undead's glowing eyes moving/changing with the character' weight

  • Applied general optimizations to the game, mostly to Characters and GatherSpots, courtesy of Addison!

  • Added a "mass-produced" line to Utility Scrolls to better differentiate them from normal Spell Scrolls

  • Added a new Hatred variable to the player character that can be toggled with debug and causes all Bandits to never fail a courage check against you, and always attack you (just like Marauders)!

  • Added extra protections so that multiple Toggle Effects in the same Spell don't cause major issues[

  • Animals and Monsters now no longer try to eat/attack things that are outside their detection range

  • Animals NPCs are riding are no longer automatically added to your Party when they are

  • Better buttons/commands for rotating grabbed Items or Bodies, so now you can jump, dodge and swim/levitate up/down while doing so!

  • Better code for generating Kill, Rescue and Deliver Quest targets and locations, especially for Guild Quests and especially in regards to their levels and Jobs

  • Better code for generating Rescuees for Rescue Missions. Their level is more approppriate to the area they spawn in, their racial Factions are more correct, and they copy less data from the Quest giver

  • Better positioning and formatting of the Grimoire (Spell List) Window's items

  • Better previews of "small" Monument-type constructions, like Signs and Tombstones, in the Build Menu

  • Better sorting for Quests and People and Location Subjects in the Journal, more name-based

  • Better starting position for the placement of those "small" Monument-type constructions when Building them

  • Doubled the speed to change the distance between you and a Construction you're placing

  • Equipment that is Enchanted now get a new ID and thus aren't considered the same Item of others in a possible stack, and thus can be assigned a different shortcut slot

  • Fixed rare instances of NPCs generating with the wrong Racial Faction

  • Greatly reduced the detection radius of NPCs for other characters when inside a building

  • If you die while Transformed, then Transform back, you now properly have random Attributes reduced to your new, lower Level's

  • Improved the "broken" textures for damaged construct-type creatures

  • Increased the attack hitbox of Werewolves

  • Increased the max Negative Disposition from -1000 to -9999

  • NPCs can no longer die from BLOODTHIRST or FLESHHUNGER, as they can't feed properly. This might change in the future

  • NPCs now no longer try to dispose of corpses not in the floor they're currently in

  • NPCs now only complain about being hit by a Spell if its Effects are Really Negative

  • Party Members now teleport to your back farther away when outside in the Overworld

  • Reduced the load/unload distance of chunk's props and characters, thus making prop/char loading better when playing on lower draw/load distances

  • Reduced the weight of Projectile Items by half

  • Restored Mana Regen as an Effect for Spells, which can be learned to craft them or enchant Items, as an experimental change. This increases the number of learnable Effects in the game to... 67!?

  • Slams/Tramples from the Athletics Skill Perk can now be dodged, and won't affect Party Members

  • Slightly optimized checks for if you know a Spell or not when trying to learn it

  • The Eat button in the corpse interaction menu now shows up, but is greyed out, if the character is not dead

  • Toggle Effects now ignore the Effect's object, which basically means that you can no longer stack Transform and Hex Effects, as they'll always cancel each other out. This fixes many bugs with the system

  • Villagers no longer spawn with half the level of their Location, to avoid confusion when doing Quests with them as the target/giver

  • When choosing to Re-Create your Character, you now enter the Character Creation Screen with the level set to the maximum you reached, instead of Level 1

  • You can now always unlock doors to the outside if you're inside

  • You no longer automatically pick up Items that aren't instances of equipped Projectiles or Throwing Weapons, also optimized this system

  • You now have lower detection range from NPCs when Flying

  • You now hold your breath when placing a Construction, to make it easier to position them

  • Fixed "ghost" Construction when you fail to build one for any reason (like being in battle or not on solid ground)

  • Fixed being able to talk to a Character you're currently Bitting/Grabbing

  • Fixed broken humanoid models during World Generation

  • Fixed broken icon for Repair Kits generated in NPCs' Inventories

  • Fixed bugs and crashes when crafting an Item that uses the currently selected fuel as material

  • Fixed bug when choosing Marauder as a Party Member's new Job

  • Fixed bug when combining two incompatible pieces of Equipment for repairing them with the Field Repair Skill Perk

  • Fixed bug with Marauders attacking each other on sight, now they only attack non-Marauders

  • Fixed bug with Undead Marauders not adding themselves to the game's character list

  • Fixed Bullets being oddly stronger than other Projectile types

  • Fixed duplicated scrolling when the sort popup window is open in Inventories, Crafting Recipe lists, etc.

  • Fixed empty Bottles generating a Dirty Water Bottle when broken

  • Fixed incorrect checks for "no-space to stand up" for all humanoids races, especially Goblins

  • Fixed minor bugs when NPCs battle while riding

  • Fixed odd delay before you could interact with CraftTables, ItemContainers and WorkStations when entering a building

  • Fixed oddities when going back to the Title screen from the Character Creation one and back

  • Fixed some Spells not triggering reactions to magic from NPCs

  • Fixed the Abomination Boss being able to resurrect on reload due to its regeneration ability

  • Fixed ungrown mushrooms GatherSpots being harvestable with no penalty

  • Fixed Unicorns not having their stats properly scaled

  • Fixed Unsheathing Attacks (from Skill Perks) not working in some specific cases

  • Fixed using Invoke on self when you already have a stack of the Item in your Inventory creating "ghost" Equip Weight

  • Fixed Vampires being registered to the game's character list with their original race's Faction

  • Other misc fixes and improvements

Some of the content introduced in updates won't show up in your game world, or at least won't be readily available, if it was generated before the update. They should not corrupt world files, but if they do, please report it!
