Repeated intro
Hello, Scientists,
What changed
- Performance
- Gameplay
- UI and audio
- Balance
- Fixes
This update focuses on improving virus classification, DNA sequence management, assistant control, laboratory stability, and general performance.
Improvements
New Call Assistant Feature
You can now call an assistant directly to your current location by pressing C.
If you have at least one available assistant, the HUD interaction list will switch to an assistant selection list. Choose an assistant from the list, and they will come to your location.
If the selected assistant is currently busy, the call will be queued. They will come to you after finishing their current task.
When you have multiple assistants, the assistant list is shuffled each time it opens. This should make it easier to access different assistants when many are hired.
Better Assistant Call Feedback
Added a new notification when a busy assistant is called.
This makes it clearer that the assistant received the call and will come after completing their current task.
Improved Free Assistant Popup Behavior
The free assistant / mailing list popup behavior has been improved.
Closing the popup with ESC now works differently from closing it with the X button. This should reduce cases where the popup appears too aggressively, while still allowing it to appear again later when appropriate.
Players who have already joined the mailing list or unlocked the assistant should no longer see the popup again.
Bodybag Respawn Cooldown
Bodybag respawn behavior has been adjusted.
When either the player or an assistant picks up a bodybag, the next bodybag visual will now wait briefly before respawning instead of appearing immediately.
This should make bodybag handling feel more natural and reduce confusing instant respawn cases.
Laboratory Lighting Adjustments
Made small lighting adjustments in the laboratory.
These changes are intended to improve the overall visual feel and readability of the lab environment.
Performance Improvements
Added general performance optimizations aimed at reducing stutters and FPS drops.
These improvements should help the game feel smoother during regular laboratory gameplay, especially during moments where multiple systems are active at the same time.
Fixes
Virus Classification Fix
Fixed an issue where some virus blueprints, including A1108, could be incorrectly classified as failed after the latest patch.
Virus classification now checks each possible virus candidate more reliably instead of failing too early based on a single closest match.
Sequencer Dropdown Fixes
Fixed duplicated Create New Sequence entries appearing in the sequencer dropdown.
The blueprint dropdown should now handle deleted, empty, or invalid blueprint slots more reliably.
Blueprint slots are also compacted properly after deletion, so the saved sequence list should stay cleaner and more consistent.
Assistant Automation Stability
Improved several assistant automation flows related to capsule testing, injectable item matching, and pending player calls.
Assistants should now handle queued calls and automation tasks more reliably, especially when they are already busy with another action.
Capsule and Testing Stability
Improved several internal capsule state recovery paths.
Capsules should now handle busy/full states, visual recovery, and managed testing flows more reliably.
Zombie Interaction Stability
Improved several zombie interaction and stun recovery flows.
This should reduce edge-case issues during zombie-related interactions and assistant/zombie encounters.
Closing
This update is mainly focused on reducing frustrating edge cases in the sequencer, virus classification, assistant control, bodybag handling, and laboratory automation systems while also improving performance and the overall laboratory presentation.
More gameplay clarity, assistant behavior improvements, and laboratory flow refinements are still in progress.
