Repeated intro

Hello, Scientists, This update introduces a new prologue experience, a community-requested DNA Printer access feature, broad performance improvements, and several fixes across building, combat, tutorials, and laboratory gameplay. New Features New Prologue Experience A completely new prologue flow has been added. The prologue gives new players a guided preview of the game’s late-game gameplay loop within the opening minutes. During the sequence, you will: Meet the doctor Sequence TcA DNA Create a blueprint Produce an item with a DNA Printer Carry the product to an Experiment Capsule Inject the capsule Witness a zombie transformation and attack sequence The experience includes new camera sequences, guidance arrows, contextual instructions, and controlled interactions to make each step easier to follow. Prologue progress is saved automatically and can continue from the correct step after reloading or restarting the game. Shared and Private DNA Printers DNA Printers can now be configured as either Shared or Private. Private DNA Printers can only be used by the player. Shared DNA Printers can be used by both the player and assistants. This was a frequently requested quality-of-life feature from the community and should provide more control over laboratory production and assistant automation. Improvements Performance and Rendering Improvements A broad performance optimization pass has been completed across the laboratory. We reduced unnecessary background AI checks, repeated interface calculations, and several rendering-related costs. Shader loading and scene rendering behavior have also been improved. Opening Building Mode for the first time should now be smoother, with a reduced risk of a large frame spike or temporary freeze when the Security Camera preview initializes. These changes are intended to reduce stutters and improve overall gameplay smoothness, particularly when multiple laboratory systems are active. Improved Tutorials and Guidance New contextual guidance has been added for: Infection management Vaccine production and usage Assistant systems Experiment Logs Several tutorial, progression, and DNA guide texts have also been rewritten to be clearer and easier to understand. Better Experiment Logs Feedback Experiment Logs now compare new tests with previous attempts made using the same blueprint. The feedback should make it easier to understand whether your latest experiment is moving closer to a useful result, becoming more stable, or changing in the wrong direction, without directly revealing the correct classification. Injection and DNA Information Improvements Virus syringe bundles can now be selected and used directly from the Injection screen. DNA trait and stat descriptions have also been improved, and several cases where internal or shortened scientific names appeared in the interface have been corrected. Fixes Building Mode and Capsule Placement Fixed an issue where buildable objects could be placed inside the first Experiment Capsule already present in the laboratory. Placement checks now better detect actual overlap with capsules and other blocking objects, reducing invalid placements. Zombie Fight and Assistant Fixes Improved zombie fight behavior so the same target is handled more consistently during combat. Several issues were fixed where assistants could remain stuck, lose their navigation state, or fail to return to their normal tasks after combat or prologue sequences. Assistant-versus-zombie fights should also no longer incorrectly close the player’s fight interface. Prologue and Tutorial Reliability Fixed several issues that could prevent prologue or tutorial progression from advancing correctly on certain saves. Controls, cursor state, HUD interactions, shortcuts, and guidance arrows should now restore more reliably after tutorial screens close. The message shown after completing the prologue should also remain available correctly after reloading the game. Injection and Interface Fixes Fixed cases where the PC interface, cursor, or player controls could remain in the wrong state after completing an injection. Fixed the World Map and PC session remaining open after registering a country. Security Camera Preview Improved the initialization of the Security Camera preview when entering Building Mode for the first time. The camera preview should now prepare more safely before becoming active, reducing the chance of a temporary freeze while keeping the live camera feed functional. Visual and Startup Stability Fixed several missing shader-related visual issues and runtime warnings. Steam startup handling has also been made more reliable, preventing the game from continuing in an invalid state if Steam services fail to initialize correctly. Closing This update is focused on giving new players a stronger introduction to the full gameplay loop, providing more control over laboratory automation, and making the overall experience smoother and more reliable. The new prologue offers an early look at the systems you will use throughout the game, while Shared and Private DNA Printers give both new and experienced players more control over how their laboratory operates. More performance improvements, gameplay refinements, and laboratory quality-of-life updates are still in progress. d'Evo Team support@devo.gg www.devo.gg
