[0.8.0] - 2025-03-29

Added

  • Added glass tiles to the level editor. Glass has the properties of ice (cannot be hooked or climbed), but is not slippery

  • Added a "No walking on glass" challenge condition

  • Added simple refraction to the transparent areas of glass and ice tiles

  • Added a stamina meter that appears near Catto when climbing a wall

  • Added the ability to customize the top and bottom halves of the lure

  • Added the ability to customize the net color (instead of being tied to the lure color)

  • Added an "Apply Classic Controls Preset" button to the input tab of the settings menu when using a controller. This automatically applies input binds from the original game in this genre

  • Added a "Replay" button to Steam leaderboard entries to download and watch the replay of that entry

  • Added custom leaderboard rank icons for first, second, and third place. The line and lure colors of the rank icon for an entry are based on the player's customization settings when the entry was submitted

  • Added a date field to Steam leaderboard entries

  • Added an input field to replay and Steam leaderboard entries. It can be Controller, Keyboard, Mouse, or Keyboard/Mouse. If controller was used, the exact controller model will be displayed if found in the SDL database. If classic controls were used, this will be specified. If mouse aim was used, this will be specified

  • Added a "custom" folder in the game's save folder, where custom assets can be placed to override specific in-game assets. A README.txt file is placed in this directory to explain all the currently supported assets, and will be updated whenever new asset support is added

  • Added the ability to override the in-game backgrounds using the custom folder

  • Added "Pause and "Play", "Frame Advance", and "Hide UI" inputs to the replay mode

  • Added map/level name context display when watching a replay

  • Added replay context display after watching a replay which includes player name, date, and input type

  • Added Steam Cloud support (storage is shared with the full game)

  • Added delayed auto shift while navigating up/down in menus when using a controller

Changed

  • Fixed the visual stutter and allowed mini Catto to move freely when approaching a new level on preview menus

  • Fixed the position of moving platforms during replays. Their internal behavior was modified in the process to be more deterministic, so the initial timing may be slightly off from what it was

  • Fixed the position of Catto's arm during the sleep and crouch animations

  • Fixed the music particles of songbirds being drawn on the center of the screen on macOS

  • Fixed quick restart being applied to levels in preview menus

  • Changed replays to keep track of extra details to support newly added features

  • Changed Catto to use the player's customization settings as a ghost or during replays

  • Changed the cast shortcuts defaults to diagonals instead of cardinal directions

  • Changed dates to be displayed in the user's local time zone

  • Changed aim input binds to be hidden in the input tab of the settings menu when using mouse/keyboard and mouse aim is enabled

  • Changed map entrance arcade checkmarks to be displayed below the entrance door for more visibility

  • Changed the map version editor in the level editor to be a slider instead of a text editor

  • Changed the settings menu to expand visual areas and consolidate groups where possible

Removed

  • Removed the "Quick Restart 2" input bind to reduce confusion

  • Removed the "Screenshot" input bind when playing the game from Steam

  • Removed a few unused test resources from the game builds
