Sublight Demo Patch Notes – Sublight Demo 0.16.6
UI Improvements & Difficulty Rebalance 1.
This patch should be available shortly (if not already), a game restart and steam update will be required. Leaderboards have been reset due to the difficulty tweaks
Changes
User Interface improvements:
Changes to the display of almost all panels to try keep them more consistent and clear.
Some passives have information popups to tell you what they do in greater detail. This will be rolled out to most passives over the next few patches.
This area is still far from finished, next I'll be working on weapon detail information.
Difficulty Tweaks: Enemies now scale health/damage/speed much more aggressively with time. This should mean the game should feel about the same up to the 10 minute mark, after which the exponential scaling should start ramping up.
These tweaks have included a whole suit of tooling in the engine are a little quicker for me to change now, so expect some hot fixes to keep these values in balance.
Boss Changes:
Bosses have substantially more health, and now include new telegraphed attacks and phases. To make these fights a little more interesting. The timing and amount of health per Boss will be adjusted in the coming patches if this is an overcorrect.
Bosses now have new boss rewards, for now this includes a few unique upgrades and some maxed out weapons. In future this will also include unique weapons.
Upgrade Changes:
"Expanded Fighter bays" now grants 2 additional fighters, moved into the boss loot pool.
"Black Market Deals" moved to the boss loot pool.
Added "Ace pilot kit" to the boss loot pool. Enables the player to disable inertia and drift.
This is the first Special upgrade which can only be added once.
Balance changes to a few upgrades.
Additional new epic upgrades added to the boss loot pool.
- RailgunsNow Deal reduced damage per pierce. This should mean they still pack a punch to the first hit, and are good at clearing hordes, without being extremely good at punching through multiple big enemies.
Levels: Sector 7 - A1 (the snow one) has been redesigned to be easier on the eyes.
Fixes
Fixed a hard crash on some enemies leaving the area.
Fixed a hard crash on when large enemy units are trying to navigate while surrounded by smaller units.
Fixed multiple memory leaks.
Fixed an issue where yet to be supported translations would appear in the interface.
Thanks again for all the continued support and feedback.
Future development will be working to milestone rewards for wishlists. Additional UI improvements for weapons. A 3rd Playable level.
