It also comes with useful settings like setting the default profile that all future characters will use by default, duplicating existing controls and the ability to add unlimited profiles.

Balance Note

We want to take a moment to talk openly about balance because we know it’s one of the most important (and most emotional) parts of Nin Online.

First: balance has improved over time, and many long-term players have pointed this out themselves. That matters to us, and it tells us we’re moving in the right direction.

That said, we also see a recurring concern: certain metas are lasting too long, and some playstyles feel overly dominant for extended periods. This is valid feedback, and it’s something we’re actively factoring into our balance approach going forward.

Our goal is not perfect balance - that’s unrealistic in a game with this many systems, builds, and combat dynamics. Instead, our goal is healthy meta rotation.

Going forward, balance changes will be approached more deliberately and more predictably. Rather than chasing individual complaints or swinging numbers too hard, we’re focusing on:

  1. Reducing prolonged dominance of the same combinations

  2. Making counterplay clearer and more accessible

  3. Ensuring changes align with the intended identity of each mastery

Please note that there are a lot more balance changes coming based on player feedback. We analyzed all the results to figure out pain points, took into consideration every single written feedback and weighed them against each other. Many more changes are planned, however, some of these changes require more work - like implementing features. That being said, issues we can remediate quickly are in today's balance notes. Except more soon.

  • Seismic Dash Technique no longer interrupts enemy casting

  • All Gentle Fist Jutsu Damage slightly reduced (Stat Scaling Unaffected)

  • Chakra Scalpel Technique Base Damage reduced (Stat Scaling Unaffected)

  • Sticky Venom Technique now applies Poison II instead of Poison III

  • Colliding Wave Technique Range increased from 7 to 9

  • Increased Youthful Spring Technique Cooldown from 90s to 100s

  • Increased Base Damage of Fan weapons

  • Lightning Cutter Cast Times changed from 3/3/2/2/2/2 to 2/2/1.8/1.8/1.8/1.8s

  • Increased Speed of Wind Scythe Technique

  • Drilling Air Bullet Damage Increased slightly

  • Increased Earth Prison Technique Damage slightly

  • Increased Earth Wall HP significantly

Changes

  • Character Profile saving (Emoticons, Tracked Quests) are now rightfully separated by server This oversight caused characters of the same legacy Hitspark ID on separate servers to share settings.

  • Improved styling of Chatbox Channel Selector and Chatbox Input section Steam post imageMade them look more clickable

  • Restyled and improved user-friendliness of Emoticon Shortcuts Steam post imageThis was one of the oldest UIs I created using our new UI system introduced in 2021. As such, some of it's design was quite dated and not in-line with the rest of the interfaces. It's now more intuitive and stylish!

    • Added Hover Effects

    • Improved Dragging Look

    • Added Search Bar (we have so many emoticons now!)

    • Separated Shortcut section from All Emotes section so you don't have to drag it so far anymore

    • Restyled "Set Keyboard Shortcuts" button

    • Added Tooltips

  • Repositioned some buttons in Settings

  • When server restarts due to maintenances now, missions that expire during downtime are given grace and mission timers are reset

  • Removed "coward" mechanic from Non-Human mobs

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed padding issues in Control Settings UI

  • Fixed a mission sharing exploit
