New Mechanics

Mod Part Error Detection Mechanism The game will now perform an error check on existing part mods upon startup. If errors are found, a notification will appear in the top right corner of the screen. Specific error details are logged in the [c]Player.log[/c] file located at: [c]C:\\Users[Your Username]\\AppData\\LocalLow\\RZEntertainment\\NavalArt[/c].

This mechanism is designed to help mod authors identify mod errors, thereby reducing issues such as missing materials and black screens in ray-traced scenes caused by improper mod creation. If players encounter error prompts after downloading a mod, they can check the log file to identify the specific parts and mods and remind the mod author to update them.

Preview

In the official 1.42 update, we will complete multiplayer support for the new level system. At the same time, we have adjusted some UI layouts in multiplayer rooms to provide basic functions such as level selection and spawn point selection. By then, you will be able to create co-op missions via the Mission Editor to tackle objectives and fight against AI together.

Please note:

  • Multiplayer co-op is not part of the Careersystem, so there is no economic system involved.

  • There is temporarily no PvP support for the Mission Editor, as implementing PvP support requires more development time. However, we aim to emphasize the completeness of co-op gameplay in the first half of this year. Its priority is currently scheduled after the terrain editor and basic anti-submarine weapons.

  • Steam Workshop support will be implemented in a hotfix following the official 1.42 release.

Meanwhile, due to code conflicts with the ongoing multiplayer implementation, fixes for some known bugs in the Career system will be postponed until the official 1.42 release:

  1. Research tokens for side missions are not being distributed correctly.

  2. The procurement list fails to correctly identify starting parts (such as the 19th-century weapons in the "QuickSortie" campaign). This prevents direct purchasing, meaning initial parts can only be added through modifications in the Dockyard scene.
