LithoBreak changes
We’re a couple days late on this one, but the Moon was patient — and so was the inventory system.
This update focuses on HexaHold, our new foundation for how character-handled items live on your player, your suit, and the things you personally carry around the moon.
It’s here. It works. And there is more to come.
What Is HexaHold?
HexaHold is our take on inventory, if you squint at it through a hard-sci-fi engineering lens.
Instead of a grid of identical squares, everything fits onto a hexagon-based layout, with tighter space and meaningful ports.
If you’re thinking “Diablo inventory, but hexes,” you’re not wrong — but there’s a twist:
Items remain visible on your pack when stored
Items can be rotated
Ports have capabilities beyond just storage
Many HexaHold nodes support things like:
Power transfer
Oxygen transfer
(Soon) fuel, water, straps, and more
Your inventory isn’t a bag-of-holding — it’s a visualized system.
What Changed This Month
Last update introduced oxygen tanks and battery packs.
This update migrates them fully to the HexaHold system, letting you:
Move them
Rotate them
Decide where they connect and what they connect to
EvaSuit → HexaHold
The EvaSuit now uses HexaHold directly.
It currently includes:
5 powered ports
2 oxygen-exclusive ports
2 storage ports
Item footprint:
Batteries and the DecaLumin light occupy 1 hex port
Oxygen tanks occupy 2 hex ports
Battery packs provide power to active systems like the suit’s heat pump, keeping you from freezing, overheating, or doing both in rapid succession.
⚠️ Honest note: At the time of writing, items are not yet visualized on the character and can’t be dropped from the player inventory. We will correct this space-pack-rat tendency in time.
What HexaHold Isn’t
HexaHold is primarily for character-handled items.
Most large moon-mining equipment won’t use HexaHold directly. Instead, HexaHold will appear on:
Buildings (cabinets, lockers)
Vehicles
Player-facing storage and transfer points
Anywhere it makes sense for you to store, move, or interface with carried equipment.
Why We’re Building This
HexaHold is a foundation system.
It unlocks things like:
Cabinets and storage lockers for buildings and vehicles
Battery chargers
Oxygen tank fillers
This update is about laying the groundwork so future systems don’t have to be hacked in later.
We Want Your Ideas
HexaHold is expandable by design, and this is the best time to influence where it goes next.
What would you like to see plugged into the HexaHold system?
Specialized storage?
Hot-swappable suit modules?
Solar panels?
Tool loadouts?
Weird experimental ideas we haven’t thought of yet?

Full Moon Cadence
As always, main-branch updates will continue to land on each full moon — sometimes right on time, sometimes fashionably late, but always pushing systems forward.
Next up: metal equipment? a HexaHold building cabinet module? suit expansions? Stick around and find out.
Thanks for building with us 🌕 — Tau Ceti Labs
