HOLY GUACAMOLE - We crossed 10K wishlists!!!

Absolutely crazy how these 2 weeks have gone since I posted the cinematic and gameplay trailers on youtube. I literally thought the videos were going to get the usual 50-100 views and maybe snag a few new wishlists.

addedAbsolutely crazy how these 2 weeks have gone since I posted the cinematic and gameplay trailers on youtube. I literally thought the videos were going to get the usual 50-100 views and maybe snag a few new wishlists. It's been a crazy 2 weeks and I wanted to thank every single person that's wishlisted the game!
changedI admit I got a bit of wierd anxiety when it first happened, I didn't know what to do - Then I calmed down and realized don't really do anything, just let people play the demo or the gameplay trailer and make their own decisions. So this is super energizing to see that somebody with no marketing budget can actually break through sometimes!
addedNo deadlines or anything still for the game. Just keep working on it and improving gameplay and adding content until we find a happy place. I work a full time job to keep my bills paid and not feel desperate to release it too early
addedI'm really hoping now that I'm back on Biome/Fishing content, we can make fishing feel a bit more exciting and more things to do in biomes. The fishing mechanic I'm treating like onion layers, slowly adding more!
changedMaking some great progress this week on getting parliament biome fully figured out, it was only super partially done back in November and I had to then pivot to make the games QOL and shop content better.
changedObviously the more wishlists I can try to get, the better it gives the game a real success chance for launching and getting some visibility from steam. So I'll just keep trucking forward, keep working on the game and hope it can continue to grow a following as it develops

This is a pretty crazy moment to think about, I wanted to share with you my old gifs when I was prototyping to see ' Can I make a game after all? '. I hope this can help anybody who wanted to make their own game - Give it a shot, you never know! There's tons of free programs out there now, almost all the software I'm using is open source or free to download now for the game!

This was the first prototype attempt - I doubted I could make anything work, then was getting hyped:

This was the big 'Maybe I can make a game??' moment - I got a rough building mode working: Steam post image

The final nail in the coffin - Having customer AI actually working. I was so happy seeing the proxy dude sliding around:

What does this mean going forward?

  • Honestly nothing in my opinion - Keep doing what I was doing. Just work on the darn game, and only show/post progress/actual working content.

  • Only showing you guys things that I have working and confirmed in engine. This means I'm not showing you tons of exciting stuff sometimes, but it doesn't give you false promises

  • No deadlines or anything still for the game. Just keep working on it and improving gameplay and adding content until we find a happy place. I work a full time job to keep my bills paid and not feel desperate to release it too early

Thank you again everybody, super excited to show you more stuff in the future!
