We are back on shop content, because we got so far with fishing/biomes, the shop part of the game was falling behind - Beta players were running out of space for their fish collections and shelves, so it was a good sign to switch after the swamps biome was finished!
changedI did a community vote on the discord, and it seems like overwhelmingly people were really wanting more upgrades of current mechanics, store expansions and employee systems. There was also a decent amount of votes on making decorating do something for the game.
changedAlready got the biggest task done - The second floor to the shop. This was tricky because the original shop was not meant for a floor, but I got it figured out!

  • Already got the biggest task done - The second floor to the shop. This was tricky because the original shop was not meant for a floor, but I got it figured out!

  • Huge relief that we got the employee NPC working! NPC coding is really difficult for me, so it's really nice to see it working and relatively bug-free. I hope this will be a exciting mechanic to unlock

  • There's still some other goals that I need to tackle for Alpha 7, but overall things are moving really quickly. Once we finish this, we can pivot to town content next.

Fishable relic furniture sets you can only find pulling these out of the water

  • These will be findable only by fishing, or in the future maybe also diggable (Maybe mounds of dirt you dig out)

  • As you get into later biomes, we'll make the furniture look nicer or different. These ones are currently for the start area, so they look really dank/crusty

  • This will go really well with the new decoration system. Most furniture should be found/collected instead of being bought

  • If you don't like the furniture (Or find nicer things later) I'll make it sellable in your shop
