Hi everyone,
It has been a while since our last update, and the team has been working intensely to make Dark Light Survivor better than ever.
New third person system
We have completely rebuilt the third person system. Your character can now move more freely, and the camera can be rotated behind them for clearer awareness when threats approach. A new sprint mechanic has also been introduced, supported by a stamina system that creates more dynamic and responsive combat movement.
We also updated the default control layout to fit the new sprint system. If you changed your controls before, you can easily reassign them to your liking in the options menu.
New Six Deities debut
We have also seen some concerns from players questioning whether certain parts of our artwork, including the six deities that grant skills to the player, may have involved AI generated elements. To address these doubts openly, we collaborated with a talented artist from Poland. Using our original concepts as the base, she hand crafted all six characters with her own artistic style and interpretation. These newly illustrated deities will make their debut in this patch.
Graphic Optimisation
We have added more graphics optimisation options for Steam Deck and lower end PCs. You can now adjust shadow quality and water quality in the settings, which should improve overall performance, especially in town areas.
Bugs fix
A number of bugs have been fixed as well. We have also relocated certain save files into the game folder, which means reinstalling the game should now resolve most corrupted save issues. A new corrupted save backup system has been added and will automatically restore the latest valid save if a problem occurs. This feature is still in the testing stage.
The team is actively working on a large amount of new content including weapons, systems, maps and bosses as we move toward the full release.
Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you enjoy the new update!
