Hi All,
It’s been a while!
Thank you for your continued support and interest in Dark Light: Survivor.
Over the past four months, we have been fully focused on development, and preparing for the EA release next month.
To keep you all updated, we are going to introduce new environments, systems, enemies, and playable classes. Below is a full overview of what’s coming:
I. Two Brand New Maps
Alongside improvements to the original map in our demo, we are introducing two entirely new and visually distinct environments.
These new regions feature expanded terrain, new architectural elements, and unique atmospheric designs. From dense primordial jungles to frozen polar wastelands, each location offers a drastically different battlefield and reveals more of the mysteries surrounding the Dark Light universe.
II. New Enemies
With the new maps comes a major expansion to the enemy roster, adding more than ten new enemy types, each with unique combat mechanics.
Examples include:
• Slimes that force players into isolated duels • Alien entities capable of firing deadly laser attacks • Support units that heal nearby allies • Disruptors that inflict powerful debuffs • More oppressive and mechanically demanding final bosses
Combat encounters are now faster and more intense, demanding sharper positioning and strategy to survive.
III. New Enhancement System – Totems
This update introduces a wide variety of Totems, powerful objects that can dramatically alter a run.
Totems can provide:
• New ways to obtain weapons • Unique combat abilities • Map-wide experience absorption for instant power spikes • High-risk Curse Totems that grant powerful bonuses at a cost
These mechanics open new build paths and create dramatic turning points during difficult runs.
IV. Two New Playable Classes
Two new heroes join the fight.
Gunslinger
A master of firearms capable of dual-wielding weapons. The Gunslinger features a dedicated skill tree including:
• High damage burst abilities • Mobility skills for rapid repositioning • Crowd control techniques that stun targets
Mage
A wielder of arcane power specializing in magical combat. The Mage skill tree includes:
• Defensive spells capable of preventing fatal damage • Long-range burst magic • Magical staves with multiple attack patterns
Each class introduces unique gameplay styles and new strategic depth.
V. New Weapons
Every class now has access to exclusive weapons that reinforce their identity in combat.
In addition, we have added:
• New universal weapons • Devastating Super Weapons
Experiment with new attack styles, eliminate massive waves of targets, and combine weapons with your skill tree to craft your own unique build.
We hope you enjoy everything that Dark Light: Survivor has to offer as we move closer to the Early Access launch. Please stay tuned for more updates.
Best,
Mirari
