Hi everyone!
First, let's talk about the development progress of Chaos Front. The good news is that we've completed 35/70 unit animations—halfway through this lengthy task! The bad news? Well, we still have the other half to go.
Today, we'd like to introduce a new feature: the EMP weapons.
In Chaos Galaxy 2, EMP weapons were designed to drain enemy EN. However, in Chaos Front, which leans more toward RPG gameplay, reducing EN felt somewhat underwhelming. Therefore, EMP weapons have been redesigned to deal moderate HP damage on hit while inflicting the "Disable" debuff on targets. Disable disrupts all electronic circuits, preventing the affected unit from using weapons and abilities such as radar or stealth for one or more turns.
Weapons that can trigger Disable include the Shock Whip, EMP Bomb, EMP Mine, and more. In the late game, some powerful units will be equipped with the "Fleet Silencer "—a weapon capable of inflicting Disable debuff across a wide area.
While this debuff may seem powerful, there are countermeasures available. Units carrying the "Circuit Protector" item will automatically replace their damaged circuits and immediately remove the Disable debuff when afflicted. Additionally, some units possess the Insulated Hull ability, granting them complete immunity to Disable.
