Thank you to all the testers who provided feedback for this second version of the demo. Many of you submitted detailed bug reports and suggestions, and I’ll be working on all of them.
The game is getting better, and features are slowly but surely being consolidated thanks to your feedback.
Demo II ends today, so it is time to lay out the roadmap for Demo III, which will be released within 2 months.
DEMO III ROADMAP
Fixing bugs
Thanks to the large number of reports (mainly on Discord), I have a lot on my plate for this dev cycle. I’ll prioritize this.
Revise landing on planets and asteroids
This will be deeply reworked, both in the UI and in the mechanics.
Revise planet orbital survey
With improved UI, better mechanics, and balancing of the feature.
Revise close combat
Crew vs. crew combat will be reworked to its final version, featuring improved boarding operations, but also special ops options and combat during encounters while traveling on the planet surface (expeditions).
Revise shipyards
Improvements with a dedicated UI and consolidated mechanics.
Revise ground expeditions
Overhauling the UI and consolidating the feature into a stable state with meaningful content.
Revise planet surface (planisphere)
A UI pass, optimizations, fixes for known issues, and the addition of overlays.
Simulated economy
The scenario will start with a richer economy, providing more trade and production opportunities for both the AI and the player. The economy in Antimatter is fully simulated, but in its current state it can feel too “cold.”
Additional tutorial missions
The tutorials introduced in Demo II proved useful in teaching some basic features. The next demo will feature at least two additional missions in the tutorial “questline,” introducing you to two more consolidated features of the game.
See you soon.
