changedBut of course, with so many people testing the game, more issues have also surfaced. Although the first few days of the playtest seemed to go smoothly, over the last two weeks, we've been receiving a growing number of crash reports. It's frustrating to see a streamer try the game and have it crash after 20 minutes, as that can leave a very bad first impression.
addedPause the public playtest for new players. We want to prevent more people from encountering this issue. Those who have already added the playtest to their library should still have access, but we won't be accepting new requests for now.
addedDelay the demo's release date. We believe it wouldn't be fair to you to release the game in its current state. Our original plan was to release on October 12th, but we've decided to move that date by a few days. Our new tentative date is October 17th. We'll be transparent: this date might change again if we determine the problem is more severe than it currently seems, but we will keep you informed.

These last few weeks have been very intense for us. Almost 700 people have tried the Animas playtest, and about 100 of you have joined our Discord. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has dedicated their time to help us move this project forward. We're thrilled to see that the game is having a much more positive reception than we could have hoped for.

But of course, with so many people testing the game, more issues have also surfaced. Although the first few days of the playtest seemed to go smoothly, over the last two weeks, we've been receiving a growing number of crash reports. It's frustrating to see a streamer try the game and have it crash after 20 minutes, as that can leave a very bad first impression.

We've been evaluating and running tests to find the cause of this issue, and it seems to be quite a complex one that will take us at least a couple of days to resolve. With the demo launch so close, losing this development time directly affects our plans.

Because of this, we have made two important decisions:

  1. Pause the public playtest for new players. We want to prevent more people from encountering this issue. Those who have already added the playtest to their library should still have access, but we won't be accepting new requests for now.

  2. Delay the demo's release date.

Once again, thank you so much to everyone who has collaborated and allowed us to detect these issues in time. We'll be back soon with more news.

In the meantime, here are some screenshots of the game's current state, so you can see the progress we've made over the last month.
