Animas changes
It has been a while since our last update, and we believe we owe you an honest explanation regarding the current state of the project.
As you know, we are a team of just two brothers. The reception of the demo has been incredible (thank you for those 11k wishlists!), but the demo's success also highlighted technical issues that we cannot ignore if we want to deliver the quality game you deserve.
Why have the updates stopped?
If you have played the demo extensively, or read the forums, you know that Animas is not perfect. We have identified critical errors affecting the experience for some of you:
Complete game freezes that appear to stem from a memory management issue (RAM leaks) that is difficult to trace.
Audio system failures that cause sound to stop working entirely for some players.
We have tried to fix these issues ourselves, but we have hit a technical wall. To fix this permanently, and to accelerate the creation of the hundreds of assets still needed for the final game, we need external help. We need to hire technical consultants and support artists.
And, being transparent with you: right now, we do not have the financial resources to pay for them.
The Plan: A detour to reach the finish line
We do not want to cancel Animas. We also do not want to release a broken game.
Therefore, we made the strategic decision to pause the development of Animas temporarily to create and release a smaller commercial project, which will allow us to generate the funds necessary to hire that expert help and resume the development of Animas under the right conditions.
That project is called The Last Cat in the Universe.
What does a cat have to do with a horror game?
At first glance, nothing. The Last Cat is a sci-fi incremental game, relaxing and pixel art based.
But it shares the same DNA as Apamate Studio: the need to tell personal, deep, and emotional stories. Furthermore, it features the participation of Diora Salazar, whom many of you have already heard: she is the voice of Isabel in Animas, and now she returns to compose the soundtrack for this new universe.
How you can help bring Animas back soon
If you want to see Animas finished, polished, and bug-free, the best way to support us today is not to wait in silence, but to help make this new project a success.
We ask that you please add "The Last Cat in the Universe" to your Wishlist.

Every wishlist brings us closer to the resources we need to fix the bugs, finish the assets, and close the story of the Blanco family.
Thank you for your patience and for understanding that, sometimes, moving forward requires taking an alternative path.
Sincerely,
Wilmar & Wilderman
