Greetings Soldiers!

Everyone knows it’s unwise to attempt an Eastern campaign in cold weather, that’s why we’ve been keeping a low profile over the winter months. But as the flowers bloom across the continent, so does new information about Valor Mortis.

On the 9th of April, we will be sharing our first new trailer of the year in The Triple-i initiative. This is a big event which has revealed and showcased outstanding games of recent years like Slay the Spire 2, The Alters, and Enshrouded. We’re excited to unveil another side of Valor Mortis soon.

Under Fire

Until then, we’ve shared a number of behind the scenes footage including video of our work in-engine and a lot of concept art.

Firstly, I’m highlighting detailed weapons that blend themes from the historical era with the supernatural fiction and technology enabled by the discovery of Nephtoglobin. Here we have concept art of William’s blunderbuss.

Under the Helmet

The Relentless are elite soldiers, endlessly loyal to Napoleon’s cause. Legions of volunteers attempt to join their ranks but few are accepted into their secret training facilities. Wielding enormous great swords, they will prove a challenge in any environment.

In battle they hide their faces, but we can even reveal a behind the scenes look under their helmets. Maybe it's a glimpse as to why so few can survive their arduous preparation.

Under the Surface

Finally, our technical director, Krzysztof “Dalton” Pachulski, recently did an interview to explain some of the tools we are using to take advantage of UE5.

While Valor Mortis is not an open world game, World Partition is allowing us to create sprawling environments. Much larger than what we were able to do in both Ghostrunner games.

We’ve also been able to produce greater visual detail and control through the use of atmospheric lighting, particles with NiagaraVFX. Nanite helps us maintain the fidelity and reduce processing cost.

You can watch the whole video on YouTube.

PAX East

We are at PAX East this weekend in Boston! Please come say hi to our developers who have made the trip from Krakow, Poland.
