Patch Notes – Playtest Update #2

Highlights

  • Added Sticky Ball protection after picking up the Elderball

  • Reworked Shane’s Vine Root into the new Vine Grab

  • Added a Server Browser

  • Added a new Post-Match Screen

  • Improved the map with a new grass system

  • Testing a new speed-based camera FOV

  • Launchpad cooldown increased to 30 seconds

Gameplay

Sticky Ball

After picking up a loose Elderball, your hero is protected from dropping it for **1.5 seconds**.

  • Prevents the ball from being immediately knocked loose after pickup

  • Players can still take damage during this time

Launchpads

  • Increased the launchpad cooldown to **30 seconds**

  • This should make launchpad usage feel more strategic and prevent players from moving around the map too freely

Shane Updates

New Ability: Vine Grab

Shane’s Vine Root has been replaced with Vine Grab.

We felt that Shane was beginning to fall behind the other heroes, especially when it came to aerial movement and vertical play. We’re testing this new ability as a more flexible replacement.

Vine Grab can be used in three different ways:

  • On rivals: briefly stuns and pulls them toward Shane

  • On the Elderball: pulls the ball in Shane’s direction

  • On walls: launches Shane forward, giving him more mobility and aerial-play options

This is a major change to Shane, so let us know how it feels!

Visual Update

  • Shane now has a new hair shader

Map Updates

  • Added grass throughout the arena

  • Improved the overall visual quality of the map

  • Strengthened the fantasy-sport identity of the arena

  • Made the different areas and field markings easier to read during gameplay

Server Browser

We’ve added an early version of the Server Browser to improve the process of finding and joining matches.

It is still a work in progress, but the foundations are now in place and we’ll continue improving it.

Post-Match Screen

Players can now view a new post-match screen after every game.

It allows you to track:

  • Match accomplishments

  • Personal performance

  • Gameplay statistics

We’ll continue expanding the information shown here in future updates.

Camera FOV Test

We’re currently testing a new camera FOV system that changes based on your movement speed.

The goal is to make fast movement feel more exciting while improving the sense of speed. Let us know whether it feels good or if the effect is too strong.

## New Cinematic Trailer

We also released a new cinematic trailer!

🎬 Watch it here: View store page

And yes, the trailer was created with the help of AI tools. A lot of work still went into developing the concept, characters, shots, editing, and overall direction. We worked hard to make sure it stayed true to the world, characters, and visual identity of Living on Ro, and we’re really happy with the final result.

We’d love to hear what you think :3
