Land Base Building

You've been asking for more options for building a base on an island - so here it is! Dozens of new buildable pieces have been added, especially for land-based base building.

But where to build? You'll need a deed to some land. And there's only one character cunning enough to have acquired enough extra land. So check in with Mudley Squeaks, where she's got the deal for you!

Item Crushing

If you've been re-crafting items (gotta get 2 stars!), or collecting too many buckets off the first beach - have no fear, Item Crushing is here. You can now break down items that you don't need anymore into component parts. You won't get a full refund of ingredients used to craft it, but you'll get a bunch of them back.

Along with the Item Crusher, come new resources. Palm Fronds, Shadowcloth, Scrap and more.

Patch Notes

  • Added Land Building

  • Added 36x new buildable pieces

  • Added Item Crusher

  • Maximum player cap is now 8 (experimental)

  • Added 3x new sets of armor (Shadowstep, Scavenger, Weathered Plate)

  • Added a new island with a parkour puzzle

  • Added buildable bookshelves - collecting sets of books gives you bonus stats

  • Added 12x new rings

  • Upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.7 (gives a small performance boost)

Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where all objects that were built on the ship could be accidentally deleted by placing two dummies in close proximity

  • Player character no longer screams constantly after being set on fire

  • Players no longer lose their money to drowning or making a save and reloading. Note that multiplayer clients will need to be careful to retrieve their coins before leaving a session!

  • Fish traps no longer disappear over time or when the player saves and reloads

  • Players no longer spawn randomly in the ocean when starting a game or joining a multiplayer game

  • Issues with the worm bosses not resetting properly improved

  • Clients no longer allowed to nefariously steal the off-hand equipment of the host on joining

  • Controller navigation in the talent tree menu improved

  • Crab riders no longer drop null spear weapons

  • Crab riders only have one rider per crab, as the gods of the Triarchy intended

  • The gribble boss' elevator service engineer has fixed the various problems with the levers not working

  • Players no longer blocked by the hammock research task in multiplayer

  • The game remembers your language choice on restarting

  • Unstuck now kills you entirely and returns you to the boat in multiplayer

  • Poison and other status effects now deal damage after their originator has died

  • Host and client worlds are now separated, so progress from a hosts world in opening chests and quests will not transfer back into the clients' world

  • Chef Gore’Don no longer puts you into a broken state of collision/flying

  • You no longer go into a slow motion state after taking certain attacks

  • DBNO players are no longer affected by the frozen status effect

  • Barrel Bombers now deal damage with their explosions

  • Compass was drunk, sobered it up

…and of course a variety of smaller changes and fixes.
