Ahoy, captain!
This weekend's playtest is focused on making the game feel more guided and rewarding without losing your sense of discovery.
You’ll find a new quest feature helping provide more reasons to explore, all new shipbuilding tools to customize your ship, and new nighttime experience bringing new challenges to Triarchy.
How To Join the Playtest
There's several different ways to get invite to play in this weekends playtest:
Sign-up to playtest on Triarchy's Steam Storepage
Receive an invite on Steam from a friend already in the playtest
Join our studio's Discord and request access in the #triarchy channel
Shipbuilding: Expanded and Ready for Feedback
Shipbuilding has been greatly improved, with more options and better control so you can start making real ship interiors and customize your layouts.
Numerous new pieces have been added allowing you to build structures and rooms on the ship
New interactable building pieces such as doors and window shutters
Free camera building mode added
Toggle between free form building and building assisted by snapping points
All ship building pieces are unlocked immediately for feedback (some will require research in future)
Build within the red construction zone around the ship
Quests & Journal: More Direction, More Adventures!
We've added a new quest system. While there's only a few quests right now, they're designed to give you a push toward interesting locations, stories, and resources. This should help you discover more of Triarchy's world while providing a more meaningful adventure.
New Pirate NPC Quest Giver: Grogskull Cutthroat now offers quests
New Quest Line: Mudley's Trade Routes
Additional dialogue lines for NPCs
New Journal - to keep track of your tutorial and quest task progress
Nighttime: More Threat, New Rewards
Night is now a more distinct phase of gameplay. Regular enemies become more dangerous, and you'll find new rewards to gain after dark.

New resource drops from enemies at night: Lunar flux

Some of Mudley’s shop inventory becomes available after finishing her quests
Numerous item prices have been rebalanced

Pete’s model has been updated
Crafting
Wooden Armor now requires Gribble Resin instead of Nails
UI
Choosing your character has been altered to provide a smoother experience
Multiplayer flow has been changed, now prompting you to choose a character or create a new one upon accepting an invite - we'd love more feedback on this change
Added single-player offline mode
Adjusted the way players in multiplayer go to sleep
Controller support for the Research Table
Research table UI updates
Bug Fixes
Items will no longer disappear when dropped in the Revenant's room
Fixed an issue causing crashing in multiplayer
Localization
Translation improvements and fixes for all supported languages
Known Issues
Tutorial tasks may not visually progress - this can be fixed by going into the journal to pin and unpin them
Controller support for building is not fully implemented, keyboard and mouse is recommended
Controller support for elements of the talent tree UI isn’t fully implemented, keyboard and mouse is recommended
