changedHappy new year, fellow islanders!I took a bit of a break and I otherwise mostly worked on the boring nitty gritty needed for the game to run smoothly. No one wants to read a devlog on graphic settings and frame rate optimization.
addedSneak peek: New card artA new set of cards is almost ready to plug into the game. Here's a quick preview of a few of them:
changedLocalizationThe initial set of languages is ready: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Korean, Chinese, Japanese and German.
changedLocalizationBeing a custom engine and all, I had to learn how to encode a ton of chinese, korean and japanese into a 4096x4096 png but we got there. Here's a preview: Steam post image
changedLocalizationI'm sure this is pretty banal for a japanese reader to see these characters but I always find them so nice to look at when I integrate them into my games.
changedReworking the university buildingsFinally, I reworked the university buildings to look more consistent. The building set is now pretty much finalized, unless there is some pathfinding bug or some issue with them they are as they will be in the release version! Steam post image

Happy new year, fellow islanders!

This one is going to be a quicker one as there is a little less to report on.

I took a bit of a break and I otherwise mostly worked on the boring nitty gritty needed for the game to run smoothly. No one wants to read a devlog on graphic settings and frame rate optimization.

Ok maybe some people would be interested but trust me its pretty dull stuff.

However, I have a few things to show off.

Sneak peek: New card art

A new set of cards is almost ready to plug into the game. Here's a quick preview of a few of them:

Localization

The initial set of languages is ready: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Korean, Chinese, Japanese and German.

Being a custom engine and all, I had to learn how to encode a ton of chinese, korean and japanese into a 4096x4096 png but we got there. Here's a preview: Steam post image

I'm sure this is pretty banal for a japanese reader to see these characters but I always find them so nice to look at when I integrate them into my games.

Reworking the university buildings

Finally, I reworked the university buildings to look more consistent. The building set is now pretty much finalized, unless there is some pathfinding bug or some issue with them they are as they will be in the release version! Steam post image

And that's about it!

As I said, shorter one this time. Hope everyone had a nice holiday season. A little bit later this year we will announce the release date for The people of Sea, Sun & Salt so as always stay tuned.
