What changed

  • UI and audio
  • Gameplay
  • Fixes
addedTweaksAdded option to rotate using middle mouse button press. The old way of rotating the camera still exists but this added one should be easier and more intuitive to veteran city builders. The ideal solution, as people pointed out, would be full rebinding but I wanted to roll out this quick fix before taking on this sizeable task
addedTweaksAvoiding water level seesaw by setting a minimum threshold for culture before water can start rising again: If you reach 1000 culture, you need to drop to below 900 before water rises again. This avoids situation where you barely unlock a new patch of land and then immediately lose it to decay.
changedTweaksBalancing: Less culture needed to get past the big square peninsula. It felt like too high a hurdle for some players and in the best of cases, it took way too long for culture to build up. So this is reduced a bit.
fixedBug fixesFixed camera shaking issue: Camera would shake if you just held down the right mouse button without moving. No longer.
fixedBug fixesSun & Salt worship count updates even when game is paused
fixedBug fixesFixing issue with grass in final plateaus being oddly arranged in neat rows

  • BalancingLess culture needed to get past the big square peninsula. It felt like too high a hurdle for some players and in the best of cases, it took way too long for culture to build up. So this is reduced a bit.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed camera shaking issue: Camera would shake if you just held down the right mouse button without moving. No longer.

  • Sun & Salt worship count updates even when game is paused

  • Fixing issue with grass in final plateaus being oddly arranged in neat rows

  • Overlay icons disappear with a nice tween again

Future

As I mentionned above, most of the minor stuff feels like it has been resolved with this patch and the only remaining things to do are larger tasks.

Most of the stuff I outlined in the previous patch notes for future updates is still relevant (balancing, summer looks meh, ...).

Rock Game and I are currently thinking about the future of The people of Sea, Sun & Salt and what may come next for the game so stay tuned! As always come and discuss the game on our Discord: https://discord.gg/vdpcGMf4Nj
