The Battle for Vega changes

I’m finally done with all of the changes required for the new demo! It took a couple of weeks (about a week more than expected), but everything is now in place.

What was required for the demo:

  • Levels 1 to 30 (Acts 1, 2, and 3), plus 2 bonus levels per act, prepared and balanced.

  • The first 3 mini-bosses and the first major boss, along with all normal enemies, tested and balanced for the early game.

  • Most Class 1 and Class 2 player weapons rebalanced for the available credits within those 30 levels, with updated damage scaling (especially considering the new elemental weapons).

  • Player Ships MKp to MK3 rebalanced in terms of HP, price, upgrades, and hardpoint classes for the demo.

  • All Achievements reviewed and adjusted where necessary so they can be completed within the demo version.

  • All ship and weapon presets for Arcade Mode adjusted.

  • Extensive code and asset cleanup to include only the content required for the demo — this alone took more than three days.

All of this is now complete! The next phase is dedicated testing: replaying both Story and Arcade modes extensively to evaluate overall game feel, progression pacing, and the balance of weapon damage, ship stats, and pricing.

For now, I’m sticking with last week’s estimate — approximately two weeks remaining before release.
