Tactical Nexus changes
*This post should technically be in the “News” category, but since the necessary steps—like preparing images—are a hassle, I’m posting it in the “Mini-Update” category to avoid all that tedious work.
◆ We’re planning to release the Chapter 9-1 update next week.
Please don’t expect the timing to be exact—just stay tuned.
(The stage itself won’t have quite the same impact as 5-0, which we released last time, but I think it’s pretty fun.
“With the ‘Skill Tree’ system now in place, this stage is easier to control and understand than 8-3 (Mirror).”)
◆We expect the achievement feature to be implemented around the week after Chapter 9-1 goes live. Sorry about that.
(We’ve asked the graphic designer to create several hundred icons.)
◆After the achievement feature is implemented, the “Save Slot Change” feature is scheduled to be added.
(This feature allows you to duplicate a save file using the results from “Save Slot 1 (current save data)” as the maximum value.
However, since it’s quite complex, there’s a high probability that some bugs will remain.)
→I’m not entirely sure what Steam’s terms of service are, so I can’t give specific details, but as for us, even if siblings or family members share a single TacticalNexus account, we have no intention of throwing Death Shurikens or Dark Destruction Knives at you or your planet.
Since it's not a competitive game, I figure it's perfectly normal to share data among family members or friends.
(As of June 2026, our Discord server has about 1,000 members, which is still manageable, so if there are players who’ve lost their data, we occasionally provide some individual support.
We approach development and operations with this kind of mindset.
This is strictly a “personal” effort, and we can’t guarantee it will always happen, but given our small scale at the moment, we believe that “there’s no need to be overly sensitive about money when it comes to developers.”
Basically, we don’t care about anything other than “things that could have a negative impact on other people (whether staff or players in the community),” and since TacticalNexus isn’t run as a business, we ourselves don’t really dwell on money-related issues.)
◆For the combined February–June issue of Monthly Nexus, I intended to write “A Post-Mortem on Chapter 5-0 and a Detailed Explanation of Game Design in Tactical Nexus,” but the text exceeded 3,000 lines—more than the page count of a 200-page paperback novel.
I’ll probably need to spend another 20 hours or so writing it, but debugging Chapter 9-1 takes priority over this ridiculous task, so I’ll update after Chapter 9-1 is implemented.
◆We apologize for bringing up a topic unrelated to Tactical Nexus, but about 1–3 weeks after the implementation of Chapter 9-1, I plan to release a shooter on Steam titled “𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙨”.
“𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙨” will be free to play, and there will be completely worthless DLC (1$, 5$, 10$, 20$) that has absolutely no impact on the game.
“𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙨” is a 2D shooter featuring WASD movement and mouse controls (aiming and shooting), with graphics consisting of symbols like ○, △, and ◇.
Team-Nexus originally developed action RPGs primarily for internal use. In “𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙨”, players can experience various exhilarating sensations of destruction thanks to several effects devised by the graphic designer and an action game engine that has never been used by TacticalNexus.
(Although it’s quite different, the overall vibe leans toward a “shooting game where the player can Danmaku.” Also, while it’s billed as a shooting game, the player has levels, HP, and other stats.)
→ We plan to release “𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙨” after having the game designer fine-tune the balance, but since handing the data over to him now could further delay the development of 9-1, we’ll polish it after 9-1 is implemented.
I originally built most of “𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙨” in a single day, and since I don’t want to juggle any more projects in parallel, I plan to make absolutely no updates to it and will likely ignore all bug reports.
Therefore, I’d like you to feel free to advertise “𝙐𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙍𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘽𝙪𝙜𝙨”, complain about the game, bombard it with low ratings, and troll the forums—all within the bounds of the law.
