Wassup Runagades,

Last time we talked about some of the powerups available in Sprint City… but not all of them.

So... let’s fix that!

Just like the other powerups, everything here can be charged up near Tesla Cubes to make them stronger and longer lasting. Let’s get into it!!

Sometimes the smartest move is just not getting hit. The Shield protects you from the chaos other Runagades throw your way.

Rockets, ice beams, pigeons, the shield blocks them ALL while it’s active.

Charge it longer and it simply lasts longer.

The Boxing Gloves are not to punch other Runagades with. Activate them and you’ll launch forward with a boost, smashing through obstacles and barriers in your path.

Charge them longer and the boost becomes stronger and lasts longer, letting you punch your way through sections of the track that would normally slow you down.

If you’re running a time trial, this is the only powerup available. Use it at the right moment and you might just climb to the top of those leaderboards!

The Jammer is by far the most disruptive. Activate it and it hacks all the other Runagades you are racing, stopping them in their tracks.

Charge it longer and the effect lasts longer, keeping your opponents locked in place while you keep moving.

It’s especially useful in sections that require precise timing. Nothing worse than lining up a perfect jump and suddenly not being able to move.

The Grappling Hook is one of the most iconic tools in the game. You can use it in two different ways:

  • Aim it at another Runagade to pull them back while boosting yourself forward

  • No one nearby? Fire it at the environment and pull yourself toward wherever you aimed

It’s great for catching up, dodging incoming attacks, or pulling off some creative movement.

The Grappling Hook also has three charge levels. The more you charge it, the stronger the pull becomes. At higher levels, it will even electrocute other Runagades you hook into.

That’s all the current powerups in Sprint City.

Used well, they can completely change the momentum of a race. The key is knowing when to use them and how long to charge them.

We’re excited to see the strategies you’ll come up with once you start experimenting!

Stay safe from the pigeons out there,

Gary D. Tour
