Sinking Eternity changes
This is a bit of a sad update for me to make this week, but I will have to push back the Early Access release date a bit.
I'm sorry about that, as I know some of you have really been looking forward to the upcoming release. This wasn't an easy decision, but I believe it's the right one for the game.
To give you a bit more information, there are 2 main reasons for pushing back the Early Access release date:
The first reason: There are some in-game features that I really want to polish further before the Early Access release (like sea creature behavior/movement, in-game audio effects, crafting progression, performance on older PCs, etc.)
The second reason: The current Early Access content takes the player around 80% of the way to the game's first ending. I think this ending will be really monumental, and I feel it would be a big missed opportunity not to have it in the game at launch. I know many players don't expect a finishable game in Early Access, but I think it would be worth the wait.
Development is progressing well, and this extra time will help make the experience even better.
So all this to say that I will temporarily set the release date to "Q2 2026", and I’ll update you within the next two weeks with more information. Thanks again for your support.
Also, here are this week’s demo updates:
Added storage crates to the build menu (to give more flexibility than the previous storage stash approach). You will now be able to build basic storage crates in the demo, and larger ones will be unlocked through the game.
Improved the tanning station model
Improved the refuge upgrade name text font size
Improved the basic bed model
Stopped campfire audio when opening the pause menu and added better audio handling when multiple campfires are close to each other
Added more buildable areas on the starting islands. For example, you can now build on the smaller cryopod island
The building model now snaps faster onto the crosshair target when being placed in the game world
Standardized the materials returned to the player when deconstructing a shelter upgrade
Updated the hover information for the campfire, crafting station, and basic bed
Increased the size of loot popups
Increased the size of skill popups
Increased the size of unlocked recipe popups
Thanks again for your support!
