Rawshire The Last Hatchling changes
DEVELOPMENT UPDATE # 5
This update highlights the changes made during the most recent steam update (alpha version 0.6.3) which is now live on steam. This update addresses a lot of bugs and quality of life fixes as well as game improvements as we head closer to a Beta release. The main areas of the game addressed with new updates are as follows; Collection Mechanics, UI/UX design, and Game Flow/Feel. Detailed patch notes listed below;
COLLECTION UPDATES:
Since Rawshire The Last Hatchling is a collectathon, so in this update the player can now collect and record many of the wonderful locations and interesting things they find in Rawshire. This update adds the CODEX system.
Players can now register all their new discoveries in the in-game codex and look back on them for extra added Lore and story elements. Some secret stones are also scattered throughout Rawshire. Its up to you to find them!
UI/UX UPDATES:
The UI/UX design for the Main menu, Pause Menu, Level complete Menu and loading screen have been updated to better fit the design from the last update. This will be an ongoing process of continuous polish to ensure all UI systems are working and looking amazing!
The skill tree update includes in menu particle effects and decal updates;
Main menu has got a new look, let me know what you think in the comments!
GAME FLOW AND FEEL:
Extra effort went into ensuring that the level transitions, cutscenes, title screens, etc. feel and flow seamlessly without hindering the game experience. More Story elements were added to each level.
Areas of interest now have detailed title screens and story lore that add depth to the world of Rawshire!
Loading screens got a much needed update!
Each level has an update to the level intro cutscene and title banner;
BUG FIXES:
Number of bug fixes were addressed including, falling through world in Sanctuary, Camera clipping, UI counting bugs, backend fixes and more. See full list below

STORY - New opening cutscenes - added swimming tutorial in MV2 - improved tutorial placements and trigger system - added first Points of interest into game (work in progress) UI/UX - Made sure game works via keyboard and controller after build - converted all UI to the panel system - update main menu UI - updated loading screen UI - update level complete UI (work in progress) - fully implemented the codex system; includes Rawshire, Discoveries, Creatures, History, Tutorials SOUND - Started adding and improving the sound in game (work in progress) need more sounds as lots are missing. BACKEND - Re-organized save file - Implemented fully the new scene setup/cutscenes PLAYER CONTROLER - smoothed camera collisions with environment - added camera prediction algorithm to ENVRIONMENT IMPROVEMENTS - Enhanced Lava in MC3 (added ability to die, sink, etc.) - small improvement to MC1 puzzle (first) - Moving platforms and platforms in general received an update (both visually and functionally) - updated portal transitions - added more fauna in MV BUG FIXES - bugs found with controls - Bugs found with new UI - Fixed counting bug when player was in Sanctuary; the UI would not properly display the items collected - Fixed bugs involving the scene transition (camera would flash to player in a jarring way to start a level). Smoothed it out so player control is given smoothly. - fixed portal transitions
WHATS NEXT:
Alpha 0.6.4 will focus on Combat, Boss Fights, and AI.
