changedHey everyone, it's time for another devlog. In our last update we went over just how busy October is for us. Between all the events and finalizing things on the game, this post is gonna be a bit brief once again, but we wanted to go over our final prep for PAX Aus, show off the glow-up that the game's main menu received, and also announce that we've (finally) started posting content on TikTok!
changedPAX PreparationIt's no secret that we've put a lot of our eggs in the events basket for Project Regolith, with SXSW Sydney, the Steam Next-Fest, and of course, PAX Aus all coming up, one after the other, right before launch. We've spent a decent chunk of time making sure that the demo we'll be bringing works well, and gets the main idea of the game across to everyone who visits.
addedGlow-upsSpeaking of Demo prep, something that's long needed some attention was the game's UI. We've been running with the same old, dated menu screen since the middle of last year, and the same Player UI layout since even earlier, way back in pre-Alpha. Given they're some of the first things a new Player sees, it's definitely something that we wanted to improve on. And we think we've managed to do it with this new UI setup:
addedGlow-upsUI isn't a strong-suit on the team, but we're all a lot happier with the new layouts we have!
changedSee you at PAX AUS!These Steam Devlogs will be going weekly from now till the launch of the game, as we cover the final journey to release and the myriad of events occuring this month. Tune in next week for lots of lovely pictures and stories from PAX and news regarding the Steam Next Fest! or follow our socials for regular updates.

Hey everyone, it's time for another devlog.

PAX Preparation

It's no secret that we've put a lot of our eggs in the events basket for Project Regolith, with SXSW Sydney, the Steam Next-Fest, and of course, PAX Aus all coming up, one after the other, right before launch. We've spent a decent chunk of time making sure that the demo we'll be bringing works well, and gets the main idea of the game across to everyone who visits.

On top of that, we've got some extra goodies for the booth, too! The first 50 teams to complete the demo each day get to take home a pair of these incredible, official Project Regolith pins!

Glow-ups

Speaking of Demo prep, something that's long needed some attention was the game's UI. We've been running with the same old, dated menu screen since the middle of last year, and the same Player UI layout since even earlier, way back in pre-Alpha. Given they're some of the first things a new Player sees, it's definitely something that we wanted to improve on. And we think we've managed to do it with this new UI setup:

The boring, lame, old Main Menu UI The sleek, new, AMAZING Main Menu UI

We're still sorting out a nice background for the Main Menu, but for now, just the layout in general is MUCH more pleasing to the eye.

But it's not just the main menu that's been given some love:

Old, busted, Pre-Alpha Player UI The new, prettier Player UI

UI isn't a strong-suit on the team, but we're all a lot happier with the new layouts we have!

TikTok Time?

Lastly, you read it right - After months of saying "Content Soon" and even being dropped from our social links, the Regolith TikTok FINALLY HAS CONTENT! It's about time, I know. You can follow us here! And while you're at it, check out all our other socials outlined at the end of the post.

See you at PAX AUS!

And with that, this update draws to a close. If your'e attending PAX AUS this weekend, make sure to stop by the booth, Booth 11 at PAX RISING!

These Steam Devlogs will be going weekly from now till the launch of the game, as we cover the final journey to release and the myriad of events occuring this month.
