Hey everyone! I apologize for the delay. I needed to take a step back from the game and look at it as a consumer, rather than the game's developer. As most developers will say, it is a completely different experience when you've watched the game grow from the ground up. After taking some time to evaluate the state of the game, and after taking in the feedback I've gotten so far, I've decided that a large number of creative changes needed to take place. The most major change was the game's name. Day Zero Build, Craft, Survive obviously lacked inspiration and was honestly kind of spammy, so I've decided to name the game after the series it is meant to introduce. Therefore, while I am still focused on developing awesome features for you guys to enjoy, I am going to be shifting my main focus on improving the cinematic experience for the Prologue and Season 1 episodes of the Campaign. Then, I will be moving back to completing the Space Sim features that the game was originally designed to implement. o7 Behronzo

CHANGES/FIXES

  • Added a new prologue with 10 main missions to get you into the story.

  • Added a new season 1 scenario with 100 unique main missions (still in development and side quests coming soon)!

  • Added new scenarios with a few new maps.

  • The space sim has been moved to a test scenario until it is stable.

  • Added a cloud simulation (still needs some work).

  • Improved Star/Planet shaders.

  • Added a drop ship with a full interior!

  • Fixed some issues with multiplayer.

  • Improved visual effects/sounds.

  • Completely revamped the quest system.

  • Tweaked some minor things with the user interface.

  • The tutorial has been updated.

  • The keybinding system has been completely revamped to make it easier to interact with the game world.

  • Modifier keys have been removed in favor of long press actions and context menus

  • Added a weapon/tool/ability wheel to replace most modifier functions.

  • Added over 500 handcrafted and unique items.

  • Added over 115 new attachments.

  • Improved FPS reload animations.

  • You can now build without holding a blueprint in your hand.

  • The blueprint just gives you quick access to a few common build parts now.

  • Added a VERY simple market simulation to the Unity Network so you can trade to earn money.

  • Fixed an issue with hosting matches.

  • Removed match filters until dedicated servers are ready.

  • Added footstep sounds.

  • Improved bullet vfx.

  • Added retractable arm blades (energy and standard).

  • Brought the plasma saber back to the default loadouts.

  • Added a display for point based game modes.

  • Added button hover and click fx.

  • Improved shield system.

  • Improved Bullet penetration.

  • Reduced the number of active companions to 3 for now until they are easier to manager.

  • Added a random element to enemies that give them different health and damage.

  • Added a Power (mana) system.

  • Added random quotes to the Campaign death screen.

  • Added a loading screen movie.

  • Added a simple journal so you can take notes.

  • The building list has been restructured to only include working buildings.

  • Dual wielding has been removed for now. It was way too buggy to justify having in the game right now.

  • All reported issues from 1.2 have been resolved. Keep them coming!

  • KNOWN ISSUES:

  • The second to last tutorial stage doesn't show a marker for the trigger. This is purely cosmetic, but will make it hard for you to trigger the final stage. NOTE: The final stage is just a description letting you know that the tutorial is finished, so you can leave the tutorial at any point when you reach the bug without missing any content.

  • Tips aren't updating. This has been resolved and will be out in the hotfix.

  • The Avi and Soma triggers are acting a little wonky in the Prologue. This issue has been resolved and will be out in the hotfix.

  • Player profile symbols are extremely large. This has been resolved and will be out in the hotfix.

  • Visualized weapons will save themselves. This issue has been resolved and will be in the hotfix.

  • You have to manually quit space defender after a capital has been destroyed. This has been resolved in the hotfix.

  • It's possible for you to load under the world in the Prologue. If you wait a second, you will be put back where you started. I'll be updating the timing for the loading screen to compensate in the hotfix.

  • AI can see players through walls. This has been resolved in the hotfix.

  • AI will shoot their own teammates in the back. This has been resolved in the hotfix.

  • For the moment, I am using text to speech for dialogue. I plan on replacing this as soon as possible.

  • Body modifications are not showing up properly (this is why I added the coming soon screen in the customization menu).

  • Guide pictures are all displaying the raw meat icon for now. I'll have new pictures soon!

  • The guide panel (and some other menus) look a little weird. I'll be slowly adjusting these through the hotfixes.

  • AI movement can be a little weird inside of buildings. I'll be improving this over the next few updates.

  • Abilities are implemented, but they haven't been tested. There will probably be some issues with them.

  • Player profile icons aren't being saved right now.

  • Plasma blades are really weak right now. This will be balanced over the next few updates.

  • Bullets are OP. This will be balanced over the next few updates.

  • Level Colors aren't changing when using the tram.

  • The cloud sim looks pretty bad. I'll have it fixed up when the other issues are cleaned up!

UP NEXT (Season 1):

  • More weapons, armor, crafting, buildings, etc...

  • Better spawn positions for the AI in the Prologue.

  • In Game browser.

  • Dedicated Servers

  • Mod/workshop support.

  • Music mixer for custom playlists. The menu is there, but no music is available.

  • Armor support for human and alien characters.

  • Custom character choices for multiplayer. I.E. Biomorph, Human, Anima, Alien.

  • Card Games.

  • Forge Mode.

  • Updated prologue and season one maps.

  • Updated cinema for the prologue and season 1.

  • Side Quests for the prologue and season 1.

  • More sandbox/space sim content.

  • Exploration System (scanning, learning languages, finding logs, etc...).
