It has been a few days since many antennas in the Wasteland suddenly started receiving an unknown signal. Preliminary analysis had shown that the signal had artificial origins, but it remained undecipherable for some time. Only recently have some automated systems started to decode blocks of information contained in it. The message turned out to be some sort of instruction, which only the intended addressee was supposed to understand. We present you with the deciphered version of the signal’s parts:
Hey, pilot. You’ve gotten yourself into quite a pickle. I’ll help you figure out how to survive out there and to reach your goal.
Don’t forget to search the site of your initial crash: there must be resources there to create your first weapon. Trust me, it’ll come in handy in that hostile world.
Once you figure out how to build and place your first locator, you will need lots of electronics. It is a rare resource: the raiders have already taken most of it from around the map and stuffed it inside their protected bases. It would be too early for you to attack them, though, so try to look around the second crash site; it seems that raiders have not yet been there.
When you build the Mind Repository, start using automated rovers through the control panel (press Tab to open it by default). Collectors and diggers will provide you with starting resources.
Your presence definitely won’t go unnoticed, and eventually the raiders will come for you. You need to prepare for this in advance. Build turrets and walls; trust me, that’s exactly what you need right now.
They say there’s a truly mad raider roaming these lands, feared even by his own kind. He calls himself the Wasteland Rumble. Be prepared to face him when he finds you. Use anything that shoots, and try to lure him as far away from your base as possible.
Once you feel yourself getting stronger, your next target should be the raider camps. There’s plenty to loot there, including electronics. Grab some more powerful weapons to take down the turrets, and the rest will be easier.
Raiders like to set up camp in abandoned factories. If you find a shredder or a sorter, it will help you convert excess resources into others. Use requests and bots with the transporter role to automate the delivery process.
Strengthen your defenses; the raiders will only intensify their attacks. They are very superstitious and prefer to launch major raids only on dates ending in zero.
There are several ways to address energy issues. Either build wind generators or use geothermal energy. In the early stages, there are no other options.
If you run out of alloys, you should go to the contaminated lands in the east. You’ll need a filter to avoid taking damage from the toxic air in that area. Study it in the locator, but keep in mind that it isn’t infinite, and you’ll need a new one eventually.
You can find some alloys in raider hideouts, but to set up production, you’ll need to take some buildings by force. One of the raider bases should have a smelter.
Don’t forget to check the tutorial log, and be sure to read about bot blueprints. You’ll need this information to link a blueprint with a filter to a bot so that it automatically replaces the filter when it deteriorates.
Fuel is finite, and you’ll run out of what you took from the raider bases. Try to set up your own production of it. You’ll find everything you need at
