changedWork in Progress Characters:I'm not entirely happy with how these ones play, they're gonna be changed and improved in the future. Their art is placeholder, currently they're using pre-existing Enemy sprites:
addedCharacters Update Part Two?:Part One is just a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for the Characters system. The Characters system will be improved greatly in the future: more Characters, more interesting play style differences, new art, progression/unlocks and restricting levels to certain characters (e.g. a Level might require mobility, restricting Characters like Hurley).
addedNote on the old Powers system and the Level Editor:Characters have replaced the old Powers system. Before this update, Levels could have different Powers enabled (the Level Editor UI is still there but it doesn't do anything now). I decided to replace the Powers system with Characters since 99% of the official levels were centred on the Blink power, so the other powers were largely going to waste (with the exception of some challenge levels + workshop levels). You may have noticed that the Time Dilation and Stealth Shield powers don't have a character, I really didn't like those powers. If you really want them back though e.g. if you were using them in a workshop level I can put them back in the game, ask me on Discord/Steam Forums.

Play as different Characters with unique powers!

  • Protagonist: Blink Power that you're used to

  • Punished Protagonist: Blink but no slomo to give more of a challenge

  • Hurley: No powers at all for an even greater challenge

Work in Progress Characters:

I'm not entirely happy with how these ones play, they're gonna be changed and improved in the future. Their art is placeholder, currently they're using pre-existing Enemy sprites:

  • Telefrag: Teleport to Enemies to make them explode into gibs

  • Bullet Shield: Summon a Shield to reflect bullets back at Enemies

  • Lightning: Cast a Lightning Bolt that chains between Enemies and stuns them

Characters Update Part Two?:

Part One is just a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for the Characters system. The Characters system will be improved greatly in the future: more Characters, more interesting play style differences, new art, progression/unlocks and restricting levels to certain characters (e.g. a Level might require mobility, restricting Characters like Hurley).

Note on the old Powers system and the Level Editor:

Characters have replaced the old Powers system.
