changedWell, I just had a massive breakthrough in performance for Katanaut while working on the porting efforts for Switch. These performance updates are significant under extreme testing, and I'm so incredibly happy about them, that I'm here patching this in at 2am. This is a win for anyone with lower-end PC's, steam deck users, and future consoles ;)
changedSo along with the massive performance face lift, there were some other bugs I tackled as well:
addedCore: - Godot upgrade from 4.5 -> 4.6 - Massive unlocks in terms of FPS performance -- all coming from porting efforts. - Sometimes if you have too many unlocked items, opening a npc menu introduced brief lag. Optimized the npc menus for players with a lot of unlocked items. - Updated various implant descriptions for clarity.
changedBalance: - Voidthorn katana secondary AoE attack will now charge the katana as well, allowing the player to tactically spam the secondary attack when there are lots of enemies.
fixedBugs: - Fixed issue with +1 health implant not working after initial run. - Fixed bug associated to personal teleporter object not deal damage after the teleport. - Fixed issue with implants persisting outside of training room. - Fixed issue with certain implants disappearing after death. - Fixed issue with Chinese names not properly being displayed on the leaderboards.
