We're excited to release the first somewhat big content update for Hand-me-downs!
CONTENT
When starting a run, a random opponent will be assigned to each encounter (1, 2, 3 and 4) Each encounter has its own pool of opponents to choose from.
New opponents
The Bouncer
Effect: You can't put 2s or 3s on the field.
Encounter 2 pool.
The Taxman
Effect: Putting a card on the field costs 3 gold. (refundable)
Encounter 3 pool.
The Magnate
Effect: You must have more cards on the field than The Magnate to be able to play.
Encounter 4 pool.
Added Yellow deck: Start with no coin cards, and an exclusive trinket: golden glove.
Added Purple deck: The very first hand you draw gets randomly corrupted.
24 new trinkets!
BALANCE
The Shopkeeper prices no longer scale with the round number.
Nerfed pride and greed cards
Before: gained value equal to 10x base value.
Now
gains value equal to base value
The Collector no longer has a trinket.
Pride and greed cards were too strong but were often required to win a run. With the abundance of new trinkets and more affordable packs we hope new viable strategies will emerge.
BUG FIXES
Fixed soft-lock caused by using the navigation buttons in the short time window between drawing your hand and the tutorial dialogue appearing.
Fixed tutorial dialogue getting out of sync with gameplay when ignoring the prompt to click on your draw pile.
Fixed tutorial sometimes getting messed up when clicking the restart button in a tutorial run.
Fixed issue sometimes preventing player from choosing blue envelope or membership card from trinket packs.
Fixed lazy coin cards scoring points instead of gold.
WHAT'S NEXT?
The next update will likely be a bit less exciting than this one.
Our focus now is refining the steam store page and the tutorial.
We want to make it as easy as possible for interested players to see what the game is all about, and make the learning process smooth and painless for those who decide to give it a chance.
