Gunlocked 2 changes
Patch 0.60 – Beyond Infinity
Welcome to forever! Today’s update is another big one, possibly the biggest. I’ve said that a couple times, but It’s hard to compare. There’s a lot here, either way. This is also the start of Bullet Heaven Fest, and to celebrate both things, Gunlocked 2 will be 40% off all week. The price won’t go lower for a very long time, so no need to wait for a better deal.
After today’s update, it feels like we’re heading into the home stretch. I’ve got 5 more major milestones to hit, adding more weapons, more bosses, alternate ships, and more. With all of the game’s major pieces now in place, however, I’ll be switching back to a more regular update cadence. Instead of singular, massive updates like today’s, I’ll be releasing a more steady stream of smaller content updates.
But let’s focus on today’s big update, because there’s a lot here! Oh, and special shout out to everyone in the Discord that helped me test all this content.
If you’ve been enjoying Gunlocked 2, and all these content updates, please leave a review. It’s so important to a solo dev like myself. Word of mouth is everything.

Balance
Symbionics that required 3 rare upgrades now require 1 rare, and 2 commons. Applies to these weapons:
Bombikaze
Plasma Bombs
Drone Swarm
Arc Light
Hail Mary
Upgrades: The Big One will now always pick non-asteroid targets
Upgrades: The Big One’s base cooldown can no longer go below 2 seconds. Bonus cooldown reduction can reduce this to 1 second.
Upgrades: Updated the starter upgrade pool that all pilots have access to from the beginning of a run.
Certain upgrades that never belonged or no longer belong have been removed, while some upgrades that now fit the category have been added.
Upgrades: Tempest’s starting pool of upgrades has been further narrowed to remove certain upgrades that only synergize if you make specific build choices. Those upgrades, like all upgrades, can still show up later if you choose weapons and utilities that have real synergy with them.
Enemies: Orb Weaver enemies won’t create web traps nearly as often
Enemies: Enemy EMP effects will no longer stack, but instead reset to the maximum duration of 2 seconds
- ScalingUpdated the experience tables and the way level scaling works. Turbo scaling will now be a bit faster.
Quality of Life
You can now see which elite hazard you’ll be facing in the warp selection menu
Reduced the input delay buffer for NPC events so making a quick choice should feel more responsive
The Focus synergy type has been replaced by a General synergy
General upgrades include utilities that apply to a broad range of other upgrades, but that may not have a specific type of their own.
- NoteThere were no longer any focus utilities after previous balance updates. This tag has been removed from the 2 weapons that still had it, as it no longer had any effect.
Added a disclaimer at startup about Steam Input. This can sometimes cause control issues. Disabling it in the Properties settings in Steam will usually fix the issue. Gunlocked 2 already has built-in support for the majority of controller types and does not require Steam Input, if you're having issues.
Text Updates
Drone Cloner inventory text fixed
Refractor inventory text fixed
Electrocell inventory text fixed
Clonebolt inventory text fixed
Lucky Launcher’s text has been fixed
Arraydar inventory text updated
Relighter is no longer tagged as a chance type upgrade
Splitter’s cooldown stat is now displaying correctly
Fixed spacing issues with Symbionic recipes in the Codex
Lightning Rod no longer incorrectly states it’s a laser or bomb type synergy. This was a holdover from a previous version of the upgrade.
Bug Fixes
- EnemiesFixed bugs related to enemy spawns in the final moments of Turbo Mode

- Save/ResumeFixed issues with post-game stats (such as bosses defeated) messing up when saving/resuming
Controls: If you tab out while in the synergy side bar of the upgrade menu, the game will now cancel out of the side bar, preventing menu soft-locks that could occur from switching controls at specific times.
- World GenFixed the bug that could cause 2 of the same boss to be offered as choices for zone 15
- World GenFixed a bug causing green backgrounds to show up a disproportionate amount
- UIFixed an issue with synergy icons de-selecting when you choose a pilot

Upgrades: Fuse timers on bombs can no longer go negative, causing issues with some bombs detonating
Upgrades: Plasma Bomb now scales properly with Radar Array and Arraydar when its lock-on component is activated
Upgrades: Bombikaze’s symbionic now deals the correct damage
