In this patch, we reworked the "Knight" talent tree and gave it its own mechanic. The "Slash" is a close combat attack that scales with your contact damage - this should make the stat way more viable.

In this patch, we reworked the "Knight" talent tree and gave it its own mechanic. The "Slash" is a close combat attack that scales with your contact damage - this should make the stat way more viable.

There are many balance changes and fixes, as always. Here's the complete changelog:

New Features:

  • Added “Tactical Tackle” Talent

  • Reworked the Knight talent tree, replacing stat-only talents with the SLASH, dealing your contact damage without the need to run into things (essentially 5 new talents)

  • Reworked “Heavy” talent. It now gives block chance and regenerates HP on block

  • Reworked “Evasiveness”. It now refreshes your dash when you take damage. (10s cd)

  • Reworked Cleansing Amuletregeneration now triggers when you are below 50% hp. It also gives 50% increased hp regen
  • Increased coin pickup amount now increase with floor, Reduced luck-based pickup amount from 2% to 1%. Let us know how this changes the exp you get. It *should* give roughly the same exp for high luck runs and more for low-luck runs.

Fixes:

  • Tesla Buckler cooldown was not working at all

  • Enemies had the same stat caps as the player, resulting in some stats not scaling in very late regions (this might need some rebalancing)

  • Hopefully fixed a rare issue where the tutorial cactus died before landing, softlocking the game. We could not reproduce the issue, let us know should it still happen

  • Fixed some tooltips persisting after talent pick

  • Fixed tutorial slime poses

  • Fixed screenshake slightly effecting your aiming

  • Fixed some aiming jankiness when hellfire ray was aimed close to the player

Balance:

  • Player projectiles are now much more resilient against aoe damage zones

  • Strength scaling changed from 120 + 7* str -> 60 + 10*str

  • Regen per strength 0.1 -> 0.15

  • Player now has 10% more resistances in Doom and 20% more in Death (we reduced the reduction)

  • ZOP damage from 4% current hp to 50 + 2%. ZAPs can no longer cause other ZAP effects.

  • Skeletons now have an 0.5s invulnerability time after taking damage

  • Skeleton base movespeed increased by 10%

Items:

  • Slightly reduced the amount of speed shoes give you

  • Ampere’s Gauntlets: ZAP chance 30/40/50 -> 25/30/35

  • Ice Armor: shards 3 -> 9/10/11. Damage 20 -> 40. Also works on block now. Now has 5s cooldown.

  • Grand Lich's Rib Cageskeletons 2-> 3. Now also works on block. Added cooldown of 3.
  • Firemaw and Flame sword: no longer add “Fire damage” tags to the talent pool

  • Thor’s Hammer40/45/50, Electricity damage 10%/15%/20% -> 10%/12.5%/15%, the actual hammer damage is increased by 5
  • Icicle Spear: projectile damage 50 -> 70

  • Flame Sword: damage 50/55/60 -> 90

  • Firemaw: damage 40/45/50 -> 60/65/70

  • Calm Keeper: bonus attack speed 6/8/10 -> 6/7/8

Spells:

  • Rainbow catcher cooldown 1.5 -> 1.0

  • Throw SwordReduced sword turn-rate while thrown, increased charge time of “throw” to 1.3s to prevent canceling mid air
  • Shock Hands: Slow 50% for 1.5s -> 25% for 1s. Player speed buff 50% → 30% for 1s

  • Dashes

  • Britta: dash invulnerability time after dash 0.1 -> 0.05, cooldown 2s -> 2.5s

  • Wilhelm: dash cooldown 4 -> 3.5, the aoe lingers 0.1s longer now, making it easier to hit

Talents:

  • Split Devastating Crits into two talents. Also reduced the extra damage to 30% and the critical damage to 35%

  • Conductive Research: only worked on Electricity damage without mentioning it. It now has a 50% chance to ZAP on Electricity damage and 20% on every other type of damage

  • Scythe Juggling: damage 60 -> 30 (the damage of the weapon when picked up as an item is unchanged)

  • Up Your Arsenal: effect damage 40% -> 30%, now gives additional +30 contact damage

  • Epic Effect Damage: 100% -> 80%

  • Wet Dog: Intelligence -> 12, water damage 30% -> 10%

  • Brave Bird: Strength 10 -> 12

  • Character-specific talents now have a minimum level of 5, removed other restrictions

  • Toughness: additionally gives +20% max hp

  • Flash Friends: now requires “Precision”

  • Skeleton Shields: now requires 30 block chance

  • Friend Combustion: damage 60 -> 75

  • Stronker Chonker: now gives 10% damage resistance

Trinkets:

  • Critical rate average on trinkets 5% -> 4%, Crit damage 10% -> 8%

  • Contact damage on trinkets 10 -> 20

Visuals

  • Dash cooldown now shows an approximation when it is done, not the base value

  • Improved starting screen artwork

  • Presskit is now linked in starting screen
