Welcome or Welcome Back

Today's additions sees a small change to the roguelike mode, a new difficulty 1 boss and, finally, a new card.

Roguelike Change:

While difficulty one bosses are doable with the preset decks, it felt a bit bad losing your first game, so I yoinked a playtester, PaxGladeus', idea and implemented the first fight as one of the randomised bosses from the usual mode. Should hopefully mean you can get into the actual roguelike-ing a bit quicker.

The Barghest

The Black Dog of the Yorkshire Moors, the Barghest's primary mechanic is centred around his howl, in myth an omen of death to those that see the dog stalking the countryside.

The Howl

When the Barghest howls, the rest of their cards will improve. They will howl once per turn, using a card to do so, meaning this boss will always play a howl, then one other card per turn. This does mean the boss will do less on it's turns than usual, but if you do not put the dog down quickly, you might find yourself feeling like it's doing quite a lot more.

Howling Echo - New Card!

Howling Echo is a card suggested by PaxGladeus, a playtester, and it essentially just triggers all hold effects of the cards in your hand. I had considered making this banish on play, but I quite like the idea of it being a centrepiece with a complicated recursion combo, so I kept it. Give it a shot after beating the Barghest.

With that, we conclude the update notes for 0.5.1 - hope you enjoy the update

Till next time- where the ferryman waits.
