addedWhen I dropped the roadmap for Fargone a few weeks ago, I mentioned there would be one final semi-major update before the end of the year—well, that day is today! Patch 0.4.1.0 focuses on new content as well as many highly requested features from the community.
addedBefore jumping into the breakdown, I'd also like to take a moment to thank everyone for playing and supporting Fargone in 2025. This year has been the biggest to date, mainly thanks to the Busy Work update. It's been wonderful seeing so many people playing and enjoying the new content, and I can assure you I've taken many notes from the success of Busy Work to ensure 2026 is an even bigger year.
addedNew Character Creation System
addedYou can also select from a selection of starting supplies. This allows for the flexibility to begin new journeys into the Barrens in different ways, such as the Builder supply set that will spawn you with everything needed to get started with a small base but lacks any guns, or perhaps the Hunter which will start you with a long-range capable rifle and plenty of supplies for surviving out in the world.
changedFinally, you can also select from 2 different Origins: either Wanderer or Faction Start. Faction Start will start you at your selected faction's main base—paired with the Runner faction, this offers the traditional start. Wanderer, however, gives a more traditional survival experience and will spawn you somewhere randomly within the world.
addedThese changes offer greater replayability when creating new characters for new experiences within the Barrens.

So again, thank you to everyone who has been a part of the Fargone journey in 2025. Now let's talk patch 0.4.1.0!

New Character Creation System

This update brings with it the ability to customise your character's start and backstory. You can select from any of the base factions to start out as, which will impact where you start as well as your reputations (more on this below).

You can also select from a selection of starting supplies.

Faction Start will start you at your selected faction's main base—paired with the Runner faction, this offers the traditional start. Wanderer, however, gives a more traditional survival experience and will spawn you somewhere randomly within the world.

These changes offer greater replayability when creating new characters for new experiences within the Barrens.

New POIs

This update also continues the Busy Work experience of adding more POIs to the world as well as reworking some existing ones.

Reworked areas in this patch are Camp Alpha, Bandit HQ cave, and the Observatory in the mountains. As well as being generally more interesting, these areas feature new lootables, NPCs, and more.

Brand new to this patch is a large POI called Landing Site 0. Nestled in a small canyon between the Mountains and Strathem City, a new Military area can be found, now abandoned. It was used as the Military's initial landing zone during the outbreak when deploying troops and supplies to The Barrens.

Further down the road you can find a bandit camp that has been set up by the roadside—an area in which Hollowed members led by Xero attempted to cut off the Military in an attempt to stop them due to the now-known stories of ongoing experiments led by the Military.

Both of these locations feature new loot, a new mission, and flesh out some empty space in the map.

Hollowed & Military Dynamic Missions

To support the ability to start out as any faction, both Hollowed and Military main bases now feature the new dynamic mission system from the recent Busy Work update.

Sgt Kaine at Camp Alpha has 2 new dynamic missions to offer every few days. The Quartermaster, also found in Camp Alpha, has a dynamic mission to offer every few days as well.

At the Hollowed camp, Xero will now offer a new dynamic mission. As well as
