Clash of Adventurers changes
New: World Map & Minimap
The headline feature of this update — a complete map system, built from the ground up.
Minimap on your HUD. A north-up satellite view of the world around you, in the top-right corner. Grab the grip in its top-left corner to resize it (160-384 px); your chosen size is remembered between sessions.
Full world map - press M. ZipIsland rendered from real satellite-style imagery baked directly from the world, so what you see is the terrain you actually walk on. Left-drag to pan, scroll to zoom, drag the title strip to move the window, drag the corner grip to resize.
Twice the detail. The island map was re-baked at roughly double resolution (25 cm down to 13 cm per pixel), so you can zoom about twice as far in before terrain goes soft. Landmarks, roads and coastline read much more clearly up close.
Fullscreen and opacity. A fullscreen button expands the map edge-to-edge, hiding the window frame for the biggest possible view, and an opacity slider lets you see the world through the map. Both settings are remembered, and the minimap tucks itself away while you are fullscreen.
Proper icon set. Taverns, the adventurer guild house, weapon and armour shops, warehouses, traders and every craft station (blacksmith, tailor, alchemist, jeweller, chef) have their own distinct symbol. Party members, the party leader and monsters all have dedicated markers.
Craft stations and key NPCs stay pinned. Every crafting station on ZipIsland, plus Delivan the warehouse keeper and Branoc's shop, are now permanently marked on the full map at any distance - no more guessing your route back to a forge.
Points-of-interest panel. An expandable tree of the island's locations, each with its own icon matching the map. Separate buttons to expand a location and to focus the map on it, plus a Focus Current Location button to snap back to where you are standing.
Server-authoritative by design. You see your own marker, your party members anywhere on the island, and nearby monsters and craft stations. Players outside your party are never sent to your client in the first place, so there is nothing for a modified client to reveal.
Party Loot Sharing
Full party loot feed. Party chat already announced ground pickups; it now covers chests, Knowledge caches, monster drops that go straight to a bag, and gathered resource nodes - always naming who actually received the item. Private things stay private: player trades, NPC buying and selling, bank withdrawals, crafting output and quest rewards are never broadcast.
Share Gathering (leader only, off by default) - resources your party gathers from nodes are distributed to the group.
Share Lootables (leader only, off by default) - rewards from chests and Knowledge caches are distributed to the group.
Both follow your party's existing rules - Finders Keepers, Random, By Turn or To Leader, including the even-split options for currency and stackables.
Full bags no longer block you. With sharing on, if your inventory is full the reward goes to a nearby teammate with room. If nobody in the party can take it, the chest stays closed and you are told why, so a reward can never be dropped somewhere you cannot reach it.
Combat & Skills
Combat skills scale with level. Strong Blow, Cheap Shot and Body Slam now gain damage per rank, starting at +25% Attack Power and rising each level. Body Slam's stun is now its own separate effect, and every skill has its own dedicated damage/stun effect, so balancing one no longer touches the others.
Richer tooltips. Hovering a skill now shows its current level, resource costs, granted effects, damage as a percentage of your Attack Power, and stun duration where relevant. Buff tooltips gained an effect list, a type label and the current level.
Passive skill level-ups fixed. Upgrading a passive such as the gear-set Resonance passives at the Class Master now correctly shows and applies the new level. Previously the item cost was spent but the skill and its buff stayed at level 1.
Stun visuals overhauled. The swirling stun stars now sit correctly on the target's head, show up reliably on other players in multiplayer (they could be invisible before), and disappear the instant the stun ends instead of lingering. Wild Boars, Pigglets, Goblins, Kobolds and Trolls now anchor correctly, and headless creatures - Sea Crabs, Crystals and Golems - sensibly show the ring above their body. Stun audio now stops with the effect.
Line of sight is respected. Melee and area attacks are blocked by solid walls, while an enemy's own body never wrongly blocks a hit.
Party members are protected. Party members are now immune to each other's harmful effects such as stun, slow and damage, while still receiving buffs and heals. Open-world PvP against non-party players is unchanged.
Chat
Whisper recall. With the chat box focused, press Up arrow to fill in the name of a player you recently whispered - press again to cycle back through them.
/r fast reply. Type /r followed by a space to instantly reply to the last player who whispered you.
Whisper visibility. Whispers now also appear in the Proximity tab, and which tabs show whispers is configurable (all on by default).
No self-whispers. Whispering your own character now tells you "You cannot whisper yourself." instead of sending the message.
Zone chat fix. Region and Zone chat now reliably reach players who were already standing inside a zone when the map loaded. Previously such a player could be silently left out of that zone's chat audience.
Fixes
Monsters and resource nodes no longer vanish in front of you. If you stood near the edge of a zone, or stepped just outside it while still watching, everything around you could quietly despawn about 30 seconds later and stay gone until you walked back toward the middle. The server was only checking around each zone's centre, which did not reach the true size of ZipIsland's zones. Sea crabs, wild boars, pigglets, corrupted frogs, herbs, trees, minerals and Knowledge pickups are all affected. Normal spawn and despawn distances are unchanged.
NPC name display. NPCs could show a duplicated, overlapping name up close, or a different name from a distance than up close. Both now read consistently.
Environment visuals. Cleaned up the Ciliora Temple portal, its plane/tunnel effect and the associated crack decals, plus the matching character creation scene.
UI polish. Chat window and player trade interfaces updated with tidied wording, plus more reliable inventory slot rendering. Map, chat and minimap resize grips restyled to match the rest of the interface.
Smoother startup. Character locomotion and world-item cosmetics now preload in the background, reducing loading hitches.
Anti-Cheat & Economy Security
A large server-authority pass ran through this update. Most of it is invisible, but it closed several real exploits.
Item duplication closed. Dropping or destroying items could be tricked into creating items from nothing. Every quantity is now validated by the server.
Trade bait-and-switch closed. A player could confirm a trade, swap their offer at the last moment, and still receive the other side's items. Confirmations are now cancelled the instant either offer changes.
Selling a full container closed. Selling a container with items still inside paid you and kept the container, repeatable indefinitely. Non-empty containers are now correctly refused - empty it first.
Sales that took your item without paying. With a completely full inventory and no currency, selling part of a stack destroyed the items with no payment, because there was nowhere for the coins to go. That sale is now refused up front and your items stay put.
Fairer stack selling. Selling a full stack now pays exactly the same as selling one at a time. For very low-value items, one-by-one used to pay slightly more.
No trading while dead. Dead players can no longer send, accept or confirm trades, and dying mid-trade cleanly cancels it.
Crash fixes. Selling while dead, spectating or mid-respawn could take the server down, as could a malformed sell request or a trade partner dying or leaving mid-trade. All are now handled safely.
Clearer shop messages."You cannot purchase [Item], your inventory is full." instead of the misleading "item already sold", and "Trade failed, not enough Tol" instead of "not enough gold."
Server-verified abilities. Every ability activation is checked server-side, and damage and status effects are applied only by the server. A tampered client cannot trigger abilities it is not allowed to.
Privacy. Other players' combat stats and dropped-item ownership data are no longer sent to your client, and your Steam ID is no longer shared with other players' clients - not globally, and not with your own party.
Movement monitoring. The server now scores every player movement against what it considers physically possible. It runs in report-only mode this patch: it changes nothing you can see or feel, and gathers evidence for future enforcement.
