addedOne of the largest under-the-hood changes of the year landed on April 30: Clash of Adventurers has migrated to Unreal Engine 5.7.4. This is a foundation upgrade — most players won’t see a flashy new feature, but everything from rendering to tooling to async loading has shifted underneath us.
addedWhat changedEngine + project migration to UE 5.7.4 — the entire project now builds and runs on the new engine version.
changedWhat changedTooling paths updated — every internal build script, automation pipeline, and dev tool has been repointed from UE 5.6 to UE 5.7.4-release.
changedWhat changedUnreal MCP server integration — we’ve integrated the Unreal MCP server, which lets AI-assisted development tools talk directly to the engine. Expect this to pay dividends in faster iteration on content and bug fixing.
addedWhat changedCook race workaround + Steam warning silence — UE 5.7’s async cook pipeline introduced a race condition we worked around at the dedicated server boot path. Steam-related warnings on the dedicated server have also been silenced.
changedWhat you may noticePerformance and stability should be at least as good as 5.6, with several subsystems now able to use newer 5.7 APIs over time. If you spot anything unusual after the migration, please report it via Discord — engine upgrades occasionally surface tiny edge cases that escape internal QA.
