Difficulty Progression

In this update, we focused on some art direction improvements and starting to improve the game loop by differentiating planets based on difficulty. Also updated Unity for recent vulnerability.

Gameplay & Combat

  • Range enemies now show dying animation

  • Less energy spent while dashing

  • Louder ship shots

  • Improved enemy aiming on dangerous planets

  • Enemies properly spawn on planets now

  • When in dialogue, enemies won't shoot (both in planet and space)

Visual Improvements

  • Added shades to death screen

  • Fixed hue colors of house parts

  • Increased temperature colors warmth

  • Added shade to UI stats

  • Brighter colors on player

  • Warmer temperature color during the day (up to 80)

  • Changed player text color

  • Improved text readability on the pause menu

  • Orange crafting buttons

  • Ship engines are now active on planets

  • Planets show blur effect when flying over them

  • Applied art direction on different planet objects

  • Smoother landing animation with blur

Bug Fixes

  • Can't bring down fruit trees anymore

  • Max now reacts when losing money in dialogues

  • Fixed piece of metal item description

  • Fixed tall house second floor accessibility

  • Fixed broken tree shade after Unity update

  • Made camera movement smoother

  • Taking off to space with bought ships now scales properly

  • Defeat stories are now centered on the screen

  • Fixed market ships ornaments not showing with camera in space due to culling mask

  • Fixed ship mechanical arm layer in ship markets

  • Fixed overlapping text in death stories

  • Fixed narration occurring during crafting menu

  • Fixed layer issues with crafting stations in houses

  • Fixed save/quit button showing when saving wasn't possible

  • Fixed inventory objects appearing in wrong positions

  • Fixed tutorial robots' death animation

  • Fixed transparent UI elements shader issues

Systems & Configuration

  • Updated Unity version

  • Implemented planet threat system

  • Added planet difficulty variables

  • Showing planet threat indicators in space and player pad
