We have prepared a multiplayer update focused on improving progression in co-op, along with a range of important fixes and adjustments.
Quest Objectives
To make quest progression more consistent and intuitive in multiplayer, certain objectives now have clearly defined types:
🤝Shared objectives can be completed by any player and will automatically update for everyone on the server. Once completed, the objective is marked as finished for all players. These are typically used for tasks such as resource gathering and building, where individual contribution should benefit the entire group.
🌍World State objectives are tied to changes that permanently affect the game world and must be completed by the host. These include settlement progression and objectives that involve player choices. While clients can interact with these objectives, they will not trigger decision outcomes or apply world changes unless completed by the host.
Items
All unique items now spawn separately for each player in co-op sessions. This applies to treasure maps, gifts, and artifacts found both in the open world and inside dungeons. Loot from defeated enemies is also generated individually for each player, ensuring that everyone receives their own rewards.
Waystones
Waystone progression is now shared across multiplayer sessions. When joining a game, clients will automatically unlock all waystones already discovered by the host, allowing for immediate fast travel access. In addition, any waystone activated by a player during the session becomes available to all players, ensuring consistent progression for all players.
Build 0.4.1.2
Shared quest objectives now have a dedicated icon in the UI and can be completed by any player in co-op.
Quest objectives that permanently change the world state or involve player choices are now marked in the UI and should be completed by the host.
