Apocalypse: The Hunger changes
Jack in, Runners.
We've been monitoring the Grid, and we hear you loud and clear: navigating your inventory and dealing with merchants needed to be smoother. Patch 1.2.2 is entirely dedicated to Quality of Life (QoL) upgrades, making it easier than ever to build your deck, manage your implants, and spend those hard-earned credits.
(Both the Base Game and the DEMO have been Updated with this QoL feature.)
Here is what this update means for your day-to-day survival in the Metropolis:
🔍 Interactive Shop & Inventory Tooltips
No more guessing what a card does before spending your credits! When visiting a Merchant Node, you can now hover over any card or item in the shop's inventory (or your own sell list) to instantly view its full details.
Cards: Hovering will display the full-sized card artwork, complete with its exact neural cost, type, and mechanics.
Items & Implants: Hovering will display the exact stat breakdowns (STR, Armor, Crit, Resists) formatted exactly as they appear in your character sheet.
- NoteWe built a brand-new global tooltip system to ensure these popups never get clipped behind scrolling menus!
🔴 Instant Loadout Validation (Feature E)
Managing your equipment is now visually intuitive. When looking at your inventory, items that you do not meet the minimum requirements for (like not having enough Strength) will now automatically be tinted and grayed out. If you meet the requirements, the item's name will highlight in a vibrant green. You'll know exactly what you can equip at a single glance.
📈 Infinite Scaling: Astronomical Number Formatting
For those of you pushing the absolute limits of the Endless Brawl, we noticed the UI was starting to break under the weight of your massive stats and damage numbers. We've implemented a robust Idle-style number formatter. Once your numbers cross the thousands, they will dynamically scale through Millions (M), Billions (B), Trillions (T), all the way up to Vigintillion (Vg). No more UI overflow, just clean, readable carnage.
🛠️ Under the Hood Fixes
- UID Precision FixWe've updated the internal database logic to use strict string-based comparisons for Item UIDs. What does this mean for you? Zero chance of "precision loss" bugs where an item accidentally deletes itself or equips the wrong duplicate when dragging/dropping or selling to vendors.
Fixed a bug where combat logs could potentially overflow; the log now safely caps at the 50 most recent entries to keep performance smooth.
Update your clients, sync your neural links, and let us know what you think of the new UI flow in the forums!
Best of luck, The Bit Boy Games Team
