Welcome back, Captains! In this episode of Road to Release, we’re diving into one of AEXXOS’s most defining systems — Unions.

🌍 What Are Unions?

Unions are planetary organizations that act as a blend between traditional factions and guilds.

When a player earns citizenship for a habitable planet, they automatically become a citizen and member of that planet’s Union. This not only gives you a home base and respawn point but ties your identity and allegiance to that world’s ongoing story and leadership.

👑 Union Hierarchy & Roles

Each Union has a clear chain of command — from the ruling governor down to every new citizen:

  • Governor – The top authority of the Union. Automatically set as the Sector Owner, the Governor can promote, demote, manage Union storage & production, and lead their planet’s expansion. When the sector changes hands, a new Governor is installed — and the previous one is removed.

  • Senators – Trusted leaders who share nearly all the Governor’s powers. Senators remain in their roles even when the Governor changes.

  • Commanders – High-ranking officers with access to Union storage and key logistics. They’re the backbone of local planetary organization.

  • Citizens - Regular members of the Union. Citizens can contribute items and resources to their planet’s storage, helping support the growth and strength of their Union.

Every citizen’s Union and rank are displayed on their player card, so you’ll always know where someone’s allegiance lies.

🛰️ Our Vision for the Future

Unions are more than just a faction system — they’re the foundation for player-driven governance and sector control. In future updates, we plan to expand this with smaller, controllable sectors scattered throughout the galaxy, giving players even more opportunities to carve out their influence and shape the political map of AEXXOS.

✨ What’s Next?

That wraps up Episode 2! In Road to Release – EP. 3, we’ll be talking about Sectors themselves — how they’re conquered, maintained, and what it truly means to own a piece of the galaxy.

Stay tuned, Captains.
