AEXXOS changes
We’ve just passed our first 7 days of Early Access, and we wanted to give you a quick update on where things stand.
First of all — thank you. We exceeded our initial expectations with around 1,000 downloads in the first week alone. That’s incredible for us, and we truly appreciate everyone who jumped in early and helped test the game.
That said, launch week definitely came with challenges.
Over the past week we’ve made hundreds of server-side fixes and tuning changes. Random server crashes have now been resolved, and overall stability has improved significantly.
We also fixed many smaller issues, including: • Typos and incorrect item/quest information • UI issues in the Galactic Market • Various small gameplay bugs discovered through player reports
On the server side, we ran into a major issue with mobs immediately evading after being engaged. This required partially rewriting how our mob behavior system works. As of yesterday, this issue has been fully resolved.
We also made an early design call regarding the weight system. After seeing how it behaved in live gameplay, we realized it was poorly optimized and didn’t fit the game’s long-term design goals. For now, the weight system has been disabled while we work on something better.
🚀 What’s Next?
We’re currently designing and implementing a new stack-based inventory system.
This system will: • Limit items to smaller stack sizes • Tie available inventory slots to your ship class • Encourage more meaningful choices about cargo and loadouts
We believe this will feel more dynamic, more balanced, and much more fluid during gameplay.
⚙️ Upcoming Update – Version 0.3.7 (Planned for Sunday, Feb 1st)
We’re planning a small balance update with the following changes:
• Increase base range by +1 • Increase base speed by +1 • Increase EMP stun weapon cooldowns by 50%
These adjustments are based on early player feedback, and we’ll be closely watching how they impact gameplay.
