AEXXOS changes
Over the past year, we’ve focused heavily on building a solid foundation for the galaxy — and your feedback during the demo phase played a huge role in shaping what comes next. Based on that feedback, several core systems have already seen major improvements ahead of launch.
⚔️ Combat Overhaul
Combat has been completely reworked. Enemies now respond far more reliably to aggro, making encounters feel more consistent and reactive. Attacks have received new visual effects, including procedural and randomized explosions, helping combat feel more dynamic and less repetitive.
We’ve also improved the audio experience, with better sound design overall and proper audio distance culling, so fights sound impactful without becoming overwhelming as activity increases around you.
👾 A Living Galaxy
The galaxy has grown significantly:
30+ different mob types have been added, spanning multiple species.
Defensive structures have been improved and expanded.
These entities are spread across 8 different factions, all of which react differently to one another, helping the galaxy feel active and alive even when players aren’t directly involved.
These interactions are a key part of making the world feel less static and more like a place that feels inhabited and contested.
🌌 Exploration & Hotspots
Exploration has been expanded with 20+ galaxy hotspots, each featuring unique points of interest. These are just the beginning — we plan to expand and refine them further as we gather feedback from Early Access players.
To support exploration, the minimap has received a major update, including:
Multiple usability improvements
A highly requested full-screen minimap mode, making it easier to orient yourself and track nearby activity
Some hotspots are located in PvP-enabled areas, while others are not. Higher-tier rewards are found in PvP zones, reinforcing a clear risk vs reward philosophy.
PvP areas now also have an improved notification system, so you’ll clearly see when you — or other players — enter PvP space.
🛠️ Early Access Philosophy
As with any Early Access launch, AEXXOS is still very much in development.
Our philosophy over the past year has been to build and stabilize a strong core, rather than rush features. Early Access allows us to iterate, improve, and expand systems with real player feedback guiding those decisions.
We currently plan for approximately 2 years in Early Access, structured into Seasons 1–4. Each season will focus on collecting feedback, refining systems, and preparing the game for full release.
Because of this, progress wipes may occur between seasons, especially if major system changes are required. While wipes are never ideal, they may be necessary to ensure long-term balance and stability as we tune the game toward its final vision.
We’re incredibly excited to finally open the galaxy and begin this next phase together. Your feedback has already shaped AEXXOS — and Early Access is where it truly starts to grow.
See you among the stars on January 23rd. 🚀
