Hi everyone!

The first beta of Ad Iterum wrapped up last week, and I wanted to share what came out of it.

  • 20 players jumped in.

  • You explored over 1700 tiles per run on average, fought through nearly 19 enemies per session, and 95% of you hit retry immediately after dying.

  • You kept going even when the dungeon keeps killing you.

  • Half of you died unarmed.

  • Floor 1 is the deadliest floor.

  • Spawnlings are the #1 killer, accounting for almost a quarter of all deaths.

  • You were fighting hard, averaging 19 kills per run.

  • 14% reached a boss encounter.

  • 21% found a safe room.

  • 76% of deaths happened with no armor equipped

What's changing?

  • Weapons on floor 1 will appear more often while you're unarmed. No more starting a run empty-handed.

  • Enemy density and strength on floor 1 are being reduced so you have room to learn the systems before the dungeon tries to kill you.

  • Spawnling rebalancing

  • More armor on early floors. Defensive loot drops on floors 1 and 2 are getting a boost.

All of these changes are already baked on 0.1.3, which is already available in `[c]ev-experimental`[/c]branch.
